Lausanne: Europe's epicentre for conferences, events and business meetings

Lausanne is a city that has been universally chosen to form the pinnacle of the Olympic movement, based not only on its immense natural beauty and ease of access, but also on its plethora of world leading facilities and reputation as a hub for academic and scientific excellence. The city is blessed with an abundance of purpose built conference venues, internationally acclaimed universities and a variety of hotels that are as intriguing as they are accommodating.

There is perhaps no finer example of Lausanne's association with excellence than its billing as the Capital of Neurosciences.

This is spearheaded by the incredible 'Human Brain Project,' an ambitious attempt to combine research from over 90 institutes (Worldwide they are over 500 institutes)to develop an accurate computer simulation of the brain (1.2 milliard will be invested in the next 5 years).

For those that are inspired by Lausanne's Olympic associations, the stunning Olympic Museum will re-open in November after an intensive two year refurbishment. This means that the museum now boasts an impressive 3000 m2 of permanent exhibitions that truly encapsulates the Olympic spirit, and best of all, there is a 170 seat auditorium - (and the possibilities for gala dinner) perfect for inspiring guests by surrounding them with the very

In 2014 the city will celebrate the opening of Lausanne's second congress venue, the Swiss Tech Convention Centre. This new site will be the world's first fully-automated congress centre: with multiple modular rooms and a total capacity of 3000, the centre is set to become the leading platform for scientific symposiums of the future.

In addition the city's various hotels, including the Beau Rivage Palace and Lausanne Palace and Spa offer comprehensive seminar rooms and facilities to accommodate events of all sizes.

To complement the veritable abundance of conference facilities, Lausanne has gone one step further by establishing the very epitome of organisational support in the Convention Office - a fully professional and capable outfit created to support organisers with all aspects of their events. The Convention Office boasts a host of service provider and supplier contacts, and expert advice, management and coordination support designed to maximise all that the city has to offer.

The city accommodates conferences and events in a manner that is not only a professional success, but also environmentally conscious.
