Laura Grusovin was announced today as the winner of Encompass Africa’s Safari in Everyday Life competition, winning a $15,000 luxury safari holiday for 12 nights in South Africa.

Australians from all walks of life were challenged to find a ‘safari’ in their everyday life and submit a 60 second video to win the safari holiday sponsored by Encompass Africa, South African Airways, More Properties – Lion Sands Private Game Reserve & More Quarters, Classic Representation and Tanda Tula Safari Camp and Le Quartier Francais

Boutique Africa travel specialist, Encompass Africa’s Managing Director, Jonathon Wilson said ‘entries came from all over Australia and the different perspectives were inspiring. Our panel of judges representing each of the sponsors found the final decision quite difficult. In the end, we agreed that Laura had really met the brief, going out into her everyday world and finding her safari.’

Laura was born in Melbourne and raised in country Victoria before returning to pursue a career in the fashion industry.  Aged 28, Laura said she has been thinking that there is more to life and recently resigned to consider living and working overseas, maybe even in Africa! The competition inspired Laura to enter and she is absolutely thrilled to win.

‘I don’t have the opportunity to see the wilderness of Africa and its wildlife here in cosmopolitan Melbourne. I do see it in other ways though, through photographs, banners and graffiti.’

Laura now chooses her dates, packs her bags and heads to Africa on safari with Encompass Africa.
