Specialist tour operator Journey Latin America is thrilled to announce the display of their very own garden at this summer's RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
The garden named 'Journey Latin America's Inca Garden' will be on display in the World Gardens area of the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show from 5-10 July 2016.
Inspired by the Incas of Peru who were pioneers in botany and horticulture, Journey Latin America's Inca Garden takes its name from the revered Inca goddess 'Mother Earth' and evokes a sense of adventure, travel and discovery of a mysterious lost culture; the same emotions felt by American explorer Hiram Bingham upon his discovery of the 'lost' Inca citadel of Machu Picchu high in the Peruvian Andes in 1911.
Thick native tropical plants surround the garden's entrance and hide a dramatic 3-tiered terrace which echoes the famous Inca terraces at Machu Picchu. The intricate dry stone walling pays homage to the highly skilled trademark stonework of the Incas.
The sound of falling water creates a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere and completes the four cosmological principles the Incas believed originated from Pachamama: sun, moon, earth and water.
Designer of Journey Latin America's Inca Garden, Jennifer Jones comments “Discovering Machu Picchu at sunrise was a truly magical experience I will never forget. I wanted Journey Latin America's Pachamama Garden to evoke the same sense of escapism, adventure and detachment from the modern world that I felt there.”
Journey Latin America's Inca Garden is co-sponsored by British Airways who will offer direct flights from London Gatwick to Lima from 4th May 2016.
