7 famous chefs on why they 'heart' Gourmet Escape

One of the major things that makes the annual Margaret River Gourmet Escape presented by Audi (20-22 November) so unique is the fact that the chefs themselves love the event so much. They seem to look forward to it as a (very well-deserved) break from their day jobs, and who could blame them; they're in one of the most beautiful regions in the world, cooking with fantastic produce and mingling with other world class chefs. We love reading what the chefs who have previously attended the event have to say about it, so we've gathered some of the best quotes.

Margaret River's 3 most underrated wineries

Wine's a funny thing – so much is invested in marketing mystique and selling a story, some producers can get passed by in the wine media. And when you're located in one of the most remote wine regions on the planet, it's easy to get skipped over. Happily, for those on the other side of the counter, this often translates to the distinct thrill of tracking down a hidden gem and presenting it to those who think they really know their way around the wines of a region. There are plenty of said gems in the region, and here's just a few producers you may have missed.

13-year-old Jack impresses with Augusta drone footage

To say we're a little bit in love with Augusta would be an understatement. Standing where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet with the wind in your hair feels like you're at the end of the earth. In holiday season, as you cruise into town, you can almost smell the sunscreen to be slathered on and taste the sausages on the barbie in every house. So we were stoked when 13-year-old Jack Moyses arrived at our office recently with some fantastic drone footage that he'd taken while staying in Augusta during the September school holidays. Take a look!
