May 2015 – Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC) has announced an increase in visitor arrivals from the UK, with the latest 2015 figures revealing an 8% increase in UK tourists during the first three months of 2015, equating to 25,158 UK tourists visiting the Maldives compared to 23,297 in 2014.
In addition to a rise in visitor figures, the Maldives will also be expanding its tourism infrastructure during 2015, including a number of new hotel developments and the introduction of a new luxury seaplane transfer from Male to Dhonakulhi island.

Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa Introduces Luxury Seaplane Transfers
Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa is set to introduce luxury seaplane transfers from Malé International Airport direct to the crescent-shaped Dhonakulhi Island in the north of the Maldives. The seaplane service is the result of a new partnership with Trans Maldivian Airways; provider of the world's largest seaplane fleet.
