Construction of Noosa Springs Day Spa and Health & Fitness Club under way
With construction well under way, the world class Noosa Springs Day Spa and Health and Fitness Club will offer an unparalleled range of pampering and therapeutic treatments and programs under one roof. The facility will link to the magnificent Noosa Springs Clubhouse and continue the stylish Mediterranean architectural theme that characterizes the whole of Noosa Springs. Noosa Springs at present is home to an 18-hole championship resort golf course.
The spa and fitness club will have a European emphasis on hydrotherapy and other aqua based pool treatments plus nine massage rooms, steam rooms, saunas, relaxation rooms and a fully equipped beauty salon.
Philip Starkey, General Manager of Starco Developments, developers of Noosa Springs, said Were positioning this as a destination day spa, a facility so comprehensive, luxurious and unique that it will constitute a major reason for peoples travel decision, and in turn perfectly compliment the Noosa Springs Resort luxury apartment accommodation which opened in June 2005. The facility is scheduled to open mid 2006.

New dining experiences broaden Noosas global appeal
Noosa already has a well-established reputation for culinary supremacy, with award-winning restaurants stretching from beachfront Hastings Street to riverside Noosaville. In 2005, the famed Berardos restaurant on Hastings Street was voted the best regional restaurant in Australia by Gourmet Traveller.
Now there are some new dining experiences to savour, reflecting the eclectic and exotic flavours of Noosa.
New to Noosaville is Kukai?, a traditional Japanese restaurant serving fresh and authentically prepared fare, as well as Japanese classics with a contemporary Australian twist. Rumour has it that one of the translations of Kukai? is something along the lines of hungry?, which explains the question mark. If you have an appetite for Japanese cuisine, take a seat and sip on some saki accompanied by breathtaking views of the Noosa River.
Adding to the global fare is a hip new tapas bar in Sunshine Beach, an easy 5 minute drive from Noosa. Purpose built in the relaxed but stylish beachside village of Sunshine, The Marble Bar is an open-air venue that complements great drinks with tasty tapas dishes. Its open from midday to midnight, seven days a week.
Also in Sunshine Beach is the recently opened Da Rinaldi, a classic Italian ristorante where you will find delicious, authentically prepared dishes. Add to that a singing Italian chef and you are guaranteed a spirited evening.
Madam Fus, new to Hastings Street, welcomes its guests with an oversized, stone-carved Buddha that sets the scene for an experience that is all zen. Meditate on an extensive menu that combines exotic Asian flavours with contemporary tastes and then reflect on your choice with a refreshing Asian beer. Madame Fus was opened in Noosa by restaurant entrepreneur, Murray Williams, following the success of his Brisbane-based venture of the same name.
 Richard Branson in Noosa
International business entrepreneur Richard Branson was spotted enjoying a hearty breakfast at the Noosa Nosherie with colleagues during a trip to Noosa recently.
Back in 2003 Branson bought Makepeace Island, located in a broad stretch of the Noosa River, to develop an eco-tourism retreat for the staff of his Virgin empire. While further development of the retreat is yet to take place, the proposed complex is said to be planned around an existing "Queenslander" house, incorporating tree-house accommodation, tennis courts, camping facilities and opportunities for nature walks, fishing, sailing and water-skiing.
