The Latin American Travel Association (LATA) is delighted to announce that the eagerly anticipated LATA Media Awards 2020 will now take place on 11 May at 5:00pm in a new virtual format following the postponement of the live event in 2020.
The new format event will welcome the LATA members and media to shine a spotlight on the region and celebrate and reward inspiring and creative Latin America features, photography, and new formats of media content.
The virtual ceremony will reveal the winners and runners-up following a judging process which took place in 2020.
The categories for the LATA Media Awards 2020 are as follows:
- Consumer National Newspaper Feature of the Year Award (print)
- Consumer Magazine Feature of the Year Award (print)
- Online Consumer Feature of the Year Award (national magazine or newspaper)
- Best Regional Feature of the Year Awards (print a/o online)
- Best Latin American Round-up
- Trade Publication Feature of the Year Award (print or online)
- Blog, Vlog or Podcast of the Year Award
- Best Self- Published Award (i.e. Company Blog/Website)
- Top published Latin America photo
These categories were judged by a strong panel of key figures including, Colin Stewart, Chairman of LATA and the UK and Ireland director at Air Europa, Dan Linstead, Editorial Director at leading publishing house, Immediate Media, Richard Hammond, Executive Producer at Green Traveller Productions, Martin Williams, CEO of M & Gaucho Restaurants, Mark O'Donoghue, COO of Travel Counsellors, and Amaranta Wright, Founder and Managing Director of LatinoLife Media and Events.
Colin Stewart, the Chairman of LATA, says:
“It has been a very tough year for travel and we are glad to have the opportunity to shine a spotlight on Latin America and celebrate some of the great work that has been produced that helps build the awareness and knowledge of the region and whet the appetite of the UK traveller. We hope that writers and media outlets will continue to support Latin America in the coming months and help us showcase the vibrancy and diversity of the continent. We look forward to welcoming the LATA members as well as those who have written about the region to this special awards event.”
