There's one place left for this group trip to Argentiere with Action Outdoors and the UCPA from January 23-27 that is geared towards good skiers who want to improve their off-piste skills.
The trip is based in the UCPA centre in Argentiere, France. The UCPA is a not for profit organisation that promotes 'sport for all'.
Accommodation will be in multi-share, same sex rooms in the UCPA centre with up to 4 people. All meals, 4 nights accommodation, lift pass, two days of instruction, avalanche safety equipment and ski equipment will all be provided.
There's some important considerations before applying for this space:
- You should already be a competent skier, confident on all pistes, including black runs and with some previous off-piste experience
- The trip starts at Geneva Airport where transfers will be provided to the resort, but travel to Geneva Airport is not provided
- The UCPA is a sports centre, not a hotel – accommodation is of a high standard, food is excellent, but it is not luxurious
Right now, there's a lot of news in the media around the potential dangers of off-piste skiing. The UCPA has fully qualified instructors who understand the risks and teach the group how to manage those risks when skiing off-piste. This is a great opportunity to talk about how skiing off-piste can be safe with a professional organisation such as the UCPA.
