On behalf of the Balearic Islands, Lotus has one press trip place available to discover the local gastronomy of Menorca.
The is a last-minute opportunity with the trip departing on 4 October and returning on 7 October.
The UK is the number one travel market to Menorca and this unique press trip offers a behind-the-scenes gastro tour; meeting local producers, tasting local delicacies and learning about the island's rich gastronomic heritage.
The trip includes:
- A visit to the open-air market in Mercadel, known for its local island produce.
- A visit to a local cheese factory producing Mahón-Menorca (DOP) and a visit to a local olive oil farm.
- The chance to learn about the history and production of mayonnaise which originates from the town of Mahón.
- A trip to a local vineyard to taste some local Menorcan wines
- A guided tour of Maó (capital of Menorca) including a visit to the gin distillery for Xoriguer Gin in the port of Maó.
- A visit to a local craft beer brewery (Grahame Pierce)
- Lunches and dinners in some of the island's favourite and most authentic restaurants
