Patagonia, Chile (May 19, 2026) – Las Torres Patagonia, the family-owned hotel located within Chile's Torres del Paine National Park, has unveiled plans for a major property transformation set to debut with the reopening of the hotel for the 2026–2027 season on Oct. 1, 2026. The reimagining marks the beginning of a new era for the iconic Patagonia lodge, combining contemporary architecture, elevated guest experiences, and a deep connection to the cultural heritage and landscapes of Chilean Patagonia.
At the center of the transformation is the forthcoming Galpón Restaurant, a nearly 21,500-square-foot dining space inspired by the traditional barns that have long defined the Patagonian landscape. Designed as a modern interpretation of a classic galpón, the restaurant will blend rustic regional influences with refined contemporary design.
“This is much more than a renovation,” said architect Pedro Kovacic, who is leading the project. “We are preserving the essence of Las Torres Patagonia while creating an entirely new experience that feels authentic to Patagonia and aligned with the future of luxury hospitality.”
Once completed, the restaurant will feature soaring exposed wood beams, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Torres del Paine, an open-concept kitchen, and layered interiors inspired by the textures and materials of the surrounding region. Signature elements will include a dramatic wine cellar framed by reclaimed antique beams, a live-fire lamb roasting space, oversized bronze light fixtures, and a fireplace lounge anchored by a life-size bronze horse-and-cart sculpture sourced from France.
Interior designer Enrique Concha said the project emphasizes craftsmanship and storytelling through design. “Every detail was carefully considered to create a sense of place,” Concha said. “The vision is to honor Patagonia's traditions while introducing a more contemporary and immersive guest experience.”
The Galpón Restaurant marks the third phase of a broader long-term redevelopment plan for Las Torres Patagonia. The transformation began in 2024 with a full renovation of the property's guest rooms, followed by the redesign of the lobby and bar. Looking ahead, Las Torres Patagonia will continue to evolve with a series of future enhancements, including renovated stables, a new spa tower, expanded guest arrival areas, and an Interpretive Center dedicated to the region's biodiversity, geology, and cultural history.
Construction is currently underway, with foundational work completed and structural development progressing ahead of the property's seasonal reopening this October.
As demand for experiential and nature-focused luxury travel continues to rise among U.S. travelers, Las Torres Patagonia's transformation positions the property to become one of South America's most distinctive hospitality destinations blending adventure, sustainability, and world-class design in the heart of Patagonia.
