Largest media campaign in CzechTourism's history begins on CNN

The worldwide television news provider Cable News Network (CNN) has begun to transmit spot advertisements presenting the Czech Republic’s traditional tourist destinations and enticing tourists to visit this Central European country. Taking a novel approach, the advertisements invite the viewer to “Come to the Czech Republic and experience a story of your own!”

 

The 20-second advertising spots present Prague, Kutná Hora, Olomouc, Zelená Hora, Telč, the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, Český Krumlov, Svatý Kopeček, Karlovy Vary and Litomyšl together with shots of typical Czech landscapes. The imagery is enhanced by accompanying electronic music. The advertisements will appear in accordance with a sophisticated media plan prepared for CNN and its target group by a renowned television media agency that had been chosen through a selection procedure.

 

“The agency believes the advertisements, which mediate visual perception together with emotive music, will whet viewers’ appetite for the Czech Republic and their interest to seek further information, inspire them through the campaign’s message and encourage them to visit the country in order experience stories of their own”, says Rostislav Vondruška, General Manager of CzechTourism, adding that, “The special microsite Czech Republic, Land of Stories on the portal www.CzechTourism.com is a resource for additional information about the Czech Republic that in a very user-friendly and lightly educational way guides visitors through the Czech Republic’s traditional tourist destinations while making each one special by telling the personal stories of world-famous figures who lived out stories of their own here.”   

Media campaign on CNN is funded by European Union, European Regional Development Found. Media campaign registration number: CZ.1.06/4.1.00/12.09003, and CZ.1.06/4.1.00/12.09001 is founded by the Integrated Operational Programme, priority axis 4a and 4b.
