Spain's five-star La Manga Club resort has added to its extensive list of honours after receiving a prestigious award from the world's largest travel website.
TripAdvisor® has recognised the first-class facilities and service on offer at La Manga Club's Hotel Principe Felipe by awarding the luxury venue with a coveted 2013 Certificate of Excellence.
The accolade, which places destinations in the top-performing ten per cent of all venues worldwide on the website, is given to businesses that consistently earn high ratings from TripAdvisor® travellers.
Venues can only qualify for a certificate by maintaining an overall rating of at least four out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor® and must have been listed on the site for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last year.
Peter Nieuwland, sales and marketing director at La Manga Club, said: "We're delighted to have received this award and to be given one like this is extra special as it comes directly as a result of feedback from the most important people - our customers.
"The honour reflects all the hard work and effort that our staff has put in to make La Manga Club a market leader for resorts across Europe and it's our aim to continue to deliver a five-star service to all our guests."
The award is the latest in a series of accolades that have been bestowed on La Manga Club in the last six months which has seen it confirm itself as the benchmark for sports and leisure destinations in Europe and beyond.
The resort was named the best conference hotel in Spain at The Annual MICE Report Awards 2012 while it was unanimously voted the best golf resort in Spain by UK golfers for the second year running by readers of Today's Golfer magazine at the end of last year.
La Manga Club has staged a series of warm-weather training camps for Britain's elite tennis players as part of its three-year partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), it was handed the honour of staging the 2013 Spanish International Amateur Golf Championship in February and has hosted numerous high-profile domestic and international teams from the world of sport since January.
