La Manga Club Voted Among World's Best Tennis Resorts

La Manga Club

La Manga Club in Spain has enhanced its position as a firm favourite with tennis players across the globe after being named among the world's top resorts in a prestigious new poll.

The award-winning sports and lifestyle destination resort in Murcia has received new acclaim after being ranked as one of the World's Top 75 Tennis Resorts for 2015 by users of the leading American website Tennis Resorts Online.

The comprehensive online survey asked readers to rate their favourite tennis resorts and training camps, taking into account more than 20 different aspects of a tennis holiday, and received thousands of replies from players all over the world – with La Manga Club being voted second in Europe.

The accolade is a further endorsement of La Manga Club's world-class tennis facilities, with the venue already the official overseas winter training base of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) as well as having extended its partnership with Tennis Europe for a further two years this year.

Announcing the new rankings, Roger Cox, editor of Tennis Resorts Online, told La Manga Club: “As avid tennis players and experienced travellers, our readers have high expectations when going on vacation.

“In choosing the survey criteria, we paid closest attention to those elements crucial to avid tennis players: the quality of the teaching staff and instruction, tennis programming, overall tennis experience and off-court amenities.

“The (final) list is a truly stellar collection of tennis properties and your staff should be extremely proud of your achievement. Your guests' enthusiasm says everything about the hard work and dedication you've invested in your tennis programmes and services, and your commitment to making tennis a rewarding part of every player's vacation.”

Featuring 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four on artificial grass, La Manga Club's 28-court centre boasts some of the finest tennis facilities in the world and a wide range of academies are available to guests of all ages to improve their racquet skills.

A regular host for the world's leading tennis stars as well as staging both Davis and Fed Cup tennis matches, British number ones Andy Murray and Johanna Konta are among a long list of top players to have used La Manga Club as a training base, with South Africa's Kevin Anderson, ranked 12th in the world, among the recent visitors.

Among its other accolades, the resort was named as Spain's leading golf complex at the 2015 World Golf Awards for the second year running earlier this month as well as being voted 'Best Golf Resort in Spain' by UK readers of Today's Golfer magazine for an impressive fourth year in a row.
