La Manga Club Sets Runners A Pre-Christmas Challenge

La Manga Club

Runners keen to tackle one final challenge before the festive season gets into full swing are being offered the chance to head to Spain to compete in the Second La Manga Club Mountain Race - from just £48 per person.

After the success of the inaugural event last year, which was staged as part of the luxury resort's 40th anniversary celebrations, the 10.5km race will again be held in and around La Manga Club, with the discount package including race entry, one night's accommodation in the four-star Las Lomas self-catering apartments, breakfast and VAT.

Taking place over six miles of stunning Mediterranean scenery on Sunday, December 15, the testing event is open to men and women aged 18 and over with trophies on offer to the top three in the two age categories - 18-39 and 40-plus.

And after the race, competitors can relax and ease any aches and pains by taking advantage of complimentary access to the award-winning venue's luxury spa including saunas, steam rooms, indoor pool and gym.

All packages are based on people sharing a two-bedroom apartment, with a one-night bed and breakfast stay in La Manga Club's five-star Hotel Principe Felipe on offer for only €71 per person and extra accommodation available at discounted prices from just €33 per person per night.

The closing date for entries is Friday, December 13 and with the route taking runners through a natural park and protected area, the field is being limited to 300 people and competitors are urged to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Having celebrated its 40th birthday last year, La Manga Club continues to set the benchmark for sports and leisure destinations across Europe and is widely recognised as Spain's flagship venue.

Among its recent accolades, the resort has been voted the unanimous winner of the 'Best Golf Resort in Spain' by readers of the UK's Today's Golfer magazine for the last two years, while it is also the overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association until 2016.

La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sports and leisure destination including three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses, and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
