La Manga Club Courts France to Expand European Tennis Role

La Manga Club

La Manga Club's role as a major driving force in European tennis continues to push new boundaries after the French Tennis Federation became the latest national organisation to endorse the Spanish resort's award-winning facilities.

A group of France's most talented junior boys players headed to Murcia this month for a warm-weather training camp at the resort, whose world-class facilities include a 28-court tennis centre.

It is the first time that the French Tennis Federation has sent an elite squad to La Manga Club, with the group following in the footsteps of Tennis Ireland and the Russian and Swedish tennis federations who have all held national training camps at the iconic resort in 2018.

The official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association and host venue for Spain's Fed Cup tie against Paraguay earlier this year, La Manga Club is a haven for professionals and amateurs alike looking to perfect their techniques under sunny skies, with British number ones Kyle Edmund and Johanna Konta among the list of regular visitors.

Also a resort partner for Tennis Europe, the top sports and leisure venue annually hosts the European Senior Tennis Club Championships, while Europe's best club players headed to the resort last month to compete in the 16th La Manga Club Seniors' Tennis Open, an official Category 1 International Tennis Federation Seniors' Tournament.

Enjoying an average of more than 300 days' sunshine a year, La Manga Club is the perfect destination for people of all ages to enjoy a tennis break, with the resort offering an array of adult and junior academies at its tennis centre, which includes 20 clay courts.

In addition to tennis, the resort's extensive wider facilities include three 18-hole golf courses and a Golf Training Centre, a High Performance Sports Centre and 2,000m² Wellness Centre. There is also a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 15 bars and restaurants.
