Kuoni bottles 'Scents of Adventure' for new campaign
This Friday, 25th October, leading tour operator Kuoni (www.kuoni.co.uk) will launch a creative and interactive new campaign which will awaken the senses of unsuspecting Bluewater Shopping Centre visitors.
Kuoni have commissioned a completely unique antique-style map of the world, but it isn't just any map, when shoppers push the buttons of any one of Kuoni's 10 chosen destinations a puff of sensory aromas will be released which captures the essence of the destination.
Photos, videos and sounds can all evoke memories of unforgettable holidays and fun-filled moments but scents can also create emotions. Kuoni hopes the map will ignite thoughts of holidays and travel ambitions to exotic far flung lands, tropical paradises and cultural gems.
Kuoni is keen to find out if the sense of smell could be an inventive new way of defining the travel experience. The innovative map, aptly named 'Scents of Adventure', hopes to inspire a totally different way of connecting with customers' in-store.
The map will be exhibited on Friday 25th October 2013 at the Kuoni Bluewater store in Kent (L109B Lower Guild Hall, Bluewater, DA9 9SN).
Hayley Potts Manager of Kuoni Bluewater said: "We are delighted to bring this unique piece of art to the shoppers of Bluewater. From my personal travels, nothing ignites travel stories like scents such as the spices of a Moroccan market or seaweed at the beach; my mind travels back to that moment before I've even realised it."
Brian Woodhouse, Retail and Trade Marketing Manager added: "The scents and smells experienced in different countries are an integral part of the overall sensory experience of a holiday; and possibly one that we take for granted. We hope the Scents of Adventure map will entice customers to find out more about the destinations that inspired it."
Each scent has been developed by the Aroma Company using poparoma technology to create the most authentic scents possible. Destinations which have been brought to life include the USA, Australia and Brazil.
What's more, shoppers will also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a holiday to the Maldives. The winner will receive seven nights on all-inclusive basis at the tropical island paradise of Diamonds Athuruga Beach & Water Villas for two people with return flights and seaplane transfers, all courtesy of Kuoni Bluewater.
