KNOTT'S BERRY FARM HOTEL Family Fun that Just Keeps on Growing!
BUENA PARK, Calif. (Spring/Summer 2013) – What started as a small berry stand along the main drag to the beach, has evolved into a world-famous theme park, water park and hotel that still proudly bears the name Knott's Berry Farm. Now encompassing 165-acres, Knott's Berry Farm Southern California entertainment complex welcomes millions of visitors a year offering guests both a nostalgic trip back to the past, as well as state-of-the-art rides and attractions.
KNOTT'S BERRY FARM HOTEL
This 100% non-smoking hotel features guest rooms with crisp, contemporary California furnishings and stocked with amenities such as cable TV with pay-per-view movies, WebTV, Nintendo 64, individual wall safes, coffeemakers, iron and ironing boards, hair dryers, 2 phones with voicemail and wireless internet service. The hotel also offers 20,000 square feet of meeting space and a total of 11 meeting and banquet rooms.
One of the hotel's most exclusive – and charming – features is the 16-room wing of SNOOPY-themed guest rooms where a special Beagle Bedtime tuck-in service is included with every Snoopy room reservation. What could be more magical than Snoopy himself visiting your room to tuck in the kids? And children always delight in the special chocolate “dog-bone” treats he brings! The hotel also features a Snoopy Clubhouse for parties and events for up to 75 people.
Other special amenities not found at typical, in-city hotel destinations include an outdoor pool with spa; children's water play area; fitness center, showers, steam room and sauna; two lighted sports courts; kids' arcade; and self-service guest laundry. On-site dining options include the Amber Waves American Restaurant, specializing in All-American family fare.
KNOTT'S BERRY FARM THEME PARK
Knott's Old West Ghost Town® is still home to many authentic buildings, some more than 100 years old, carefully moved from their original sites in California and Arizona. But not all things in Ghost Town are historical. Named after the famous Pony Express, which promised a faster mail service on the North American continent, Knott's Pony Express coaster promises a horseback relay at speeds never imagined in the Old West! Pony Express is not the only popular coaster in Ghost Town, Silver Bullet Knott's first suspended coaster sends riders climbing to a height of 146 feet and soaring back down an initial drop of 109 feet. Both represent the energy that rushes through the area reminding guests that Knott's is the place for wall-to-wall world-class thrills.
When coaster enthusiasts talk about the country's best coasters, the subject invariably turns to Knott's spectacular GhostRider®. The 4,533-foot wooden wonder opened in December 1998 and quickly jumped to the top of coaster enthusiasts' “best ride” lists. This 118-foot mega-woodie boasts an initial 108-foot swooping drop, 13 additional hills, banked turns and maximum speeds exceeding 60 mph! And be sure to check out XceleratorSM, the world's first hydraulically launched 50s-themed coaster that blasts riders 0-82 mph, in just 2.3 seconds, 20 stories up and straight back down at 90 degrees!
Knott's Berry Farm will debut new family attractions to the theme park's Boardwalk section during the summer of 2013. Additions to the Knott's Boardwalk Area will include: Coast Rider: The 52 foot ascent to the top of Coast Rider will have everyone clinging to the handrails for the ultimate family coaster experience. The adventure aboard the ride gives guests the feeling of riding the California coast, but once they reach the crest, it is a harrowing journey down the 1,339 feet of track filled with hairpin turns, twists and spins. Surfside Glider: Taking the ride into their own hands, guests will pilot their own Surfside Glider. From a height of 28 feet, these two-man aircrafts zip through the air providing a bird's eye view of the Boardwalk area as they glide over Boardwalk Bay. Pacific Scrambler: Everyone will be caught in the spin of the Pacific Scrambler, a family favorite and traditional Boardwalk attraction.
Kids rule the day in Camp Snoopy, the first-ever theme park area dedicated solely to the young and the young at heart and home to the famous PEANUTS gang. Among the most popular rides in Camp Snoopy is Sierra Sidewinder, an innovative coaster that sends its riders through dips, turns and banks all while rotating on its axis! Hitting speeds up to 37mph, it's a perfect addition that will satisfy coaster enthusiasts of all ages. Overall, this six-acre wonderland, opened in 1983, offers more than 30 rides and attractions for little tykes and their parents! Where else can kids race in stock cars, fly planes, drive a bus or cruise in their very own 18-wheeler? Rides like Charlie Brown SpeedwaySM, Snoopy's Red Baron airplanes, Camp Bus, Rocky Road Trucking Company and Lucy's Tugboatsm all offer the perfect pint-sized thrill.
From world-class roller coasters to a PEANUTS playground, Knott's rides and attractions are something special for the whole family. A long-time Park favorite, the Timber Mountain Log Ride, is widely regarded as the best flume ride ever built. Traveling in hollowed-out logs, guests float through an 1880s sawmill before plunging down a 40-foot waterfall. Nearby, the Calico Mine Train carries passengers underground into a working gold mine.
At Knott's Berry Farm live shows are also integrated into the total park experience. This summer world-class ice skaters take to the stage in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre as they present, Happiness Is…Snoopy on ice. Fantastic costumes, catchy tunes and, of course, the cutest dog around make this musical extravaganza a not-to-miss experience.
Summer 2013 also brings the return of Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular. Starting May, when darkness falls over Knott's Berry Farm, Camp Snoopy will come alive with a continuous light show filled with three dimensional PEANUTS' figures, themed music, sound effects, voice-overs and colorful projections.
KNOTT'S SOAK CITY WATER PARK
Knott's 13-acre water wonder world, located across the street from Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park, has a decidedly Southern California theme inspired by beach and surf towns of the 1950s Orange and Los Angeles County coast. Water slides and attractions at Knott's Soak City pay tribute to the area's rich surfing heritage with names like Malibu Run and Laguna Storm Watch Tower. And like those at Knott's Theme Park, the rides and attractions at Knott's Soak City are truly world class. At 750,000 gallons in size, the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool is one of the world's largest. In addition, the park's 1,700-foot-long (1/3 mile), figure-eight Sunset River is the widest and one of the longest water park lazy rivers anywhere!
Don't miss Pacific Spin, added in 2007, this highly anticipated water slide includes a 132-foot long tunnel that drops riders 75 feet into a six-story funnel. After pitching riders back and forth through 5,500 gallons of swirling water, the ride culminates in a waterfall splash into a waiting catch pool. This action-packed adventure carries 700 passengers per hour at a maximum speed of 35 feet-per-second!
KNOTT'S MARKETPLACE
At Knott's Berry Farm, just steps away from the hotel, shopping and dining aren't just an afterthought, they're part of the whole experience. Knott's is noted for a myriad of intriguing shops, stores and restaurants all creatively planned to add distinctive flair to the hotel experience. Knott's signature eating establishment is, of course, the historic spot where it all began: Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant, a Southern California dining institution. Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2009, and is proud to offer the same legendary multi-course meals and warm neighborly atmosphere that have kept tourists, locals and celebrities coming back since 1934.
Another favorite in Knott's California MarketPlace is T.G.I. Friday's, one of the first American casual dining chains established in 1965. T.G.I. Friday's offers an unsurpassed menu selection of food featuring something for everyone.
World's famous PINK'S Hot Dogs has been a part of LA culture for over 70 years and Knott's is proud to welcome the first Orange County location. Aside from top-notch restaurants, Knott's MarketPlace also offers some of the best shopping around. No visit to Knott's is complete without a stop at Virginia's Gift Shop, the Park's first and largest store. And don't forget about The Emporium, the MarketPlace's year-round Christmas store, and Snoopy Headquarters, where Snoopy and Peanuts memorabilia can be found in all shapes and sizes.
