Kimpton Ink48 Hotel Undergoes Exciting Guestroom and Lobby Renovations

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants

Kimpton Ink48 Hotel, the beloved gem and creative hub of Hell's Kitchen, has announced the extensive and design-driven renovation of its guestrooms, suites and lobby. Led by designer Anna Busta of Busta Studio, the renovations reflect the evolution of the local neighbourhood, drawing inspiration from the hotel's origins as a printing house. The rooms have been transformed into lofty residential-like spaces, while additions to the lobby cater to a growing community of travellers and locals.

Guests are treated to spacious and light-filled rooms complemented by unobstructed views of Manhattan's skyline through expansive windows and high ceilings. The new rooms evoke a modern-day loft in neutral tones with splashes of colour, attracting urban nomads and sophisticated travellers seeking a luxurious yet unpretentious environment for work or play.

“At Kimpton Ink48 Hotel, we redefine the NYC experience and we're thrilled to bring this new level of comfort, design and luxury to our guests through this reimagination project,” says Linda Chin, City Director of Operations of Kimpton NYC and Kimpton Ink48 Hotel General Manager. “Every guest will feel transported to their own stylish, Manhattan apartment with a new residential-style design, high-end amenities and unrivalled, personalised service.”

New custom furnishings and design details include an overhead lamp with shipyard-inspired pulleys - a nod to the nearby Hudson River piers - chevron carpeting reminiscent of a bespoke suit, one-of-a-kind ceramic bedside lamps, nightstands with leather inset tops and fashionable throw pillows. Inspirational artwork commissioned by local artist Kaitlin Rebesco adorns the walls with collage photography including the Colorblock Series, which captures the essence of New York City's beautiful, raw spirit.  The in-room artwork aims to inspire guests and bring forward their creative and rebellious spirit through stark black and white scenes infused with colour.

The guestrooms offer customised, casual workspaces, outfitted with a lined oak bistro table and woven, black and steel armchair, perfect for working on a laptop or relaxing after a long day. Guests can also find extra USB ports and outlets for charging electronics on the oak veneer nightstands.

The reimagined lobby completes Kimpton Ink48's transformation with new furnishings, including vintage leather chairs, a concrete coffee table and hand-made bookcase. Whether enjoying a glass of wine or holding a client meeting, the lobby serves as a multi-functional and communal space for the hotel's ever-lively and creative community.

The renovations to Kimpton Ink48 Hotel are a response to a new contemporary traveller seeking an authentic and fresh NYC experience.
