Twenty years old and still going strong, Camp RBI, a program provided exclusively to Rancho Bernardo Inn guests, allows children a choice to participate in a variety of unusual kids camp programs.

Camp RBI is not the usual kids' hotel camp. Kids can participate in unusual activities like �Make-a-Movie,� an activity that lets them explore the ins and outs of movie-making. From script development to set-making to filming and finally, to the �world-premiere� showing of the film to family members, children will have plenty of hands-on experience and a chance to show off their creativity and artistic skills. Kids can also amuse themselves with one of Camp RBI's signature activities-

Radio Tag!, a hi-tech hide-and-seek game using walkie-talkies. In this modern take on a traditional favorite, kids team up and search for the other teams using two-way radios to send and receive clues. One of the specialty nights, �Viva Las Vegas,� features fun, casino-style games that kids of all ages will enjoy. Kids can also rock the night singing like Elvis with Camp RBI's karaoke machine and playing inflatable instruments.

More traditional camp activities are also offered. Children can take advantage of Rancho Bernardo Inn's golf and tennis expertise by taking individual lessons from the resort's pros or play team sports, including soccer, softball and basketball. Camp RBI's staff will also work with kids to tailor activities well-suited to individual interests. Activities may include scavenger hunts through the resort's lush, open property, cookie-baking and kite-making and flying. When the sun goes down, carnivals,luaus, and cookouts are just a few of the possibilities to finish off a day of play. Parents can join in on the fun with their children too-in addition to attending the Make-a-Movie �world premieres,� they are welcome to attend the popular Ice Cream Social to help their kids build and eat their dream sundae and can participate in any of the other Camp RBI activities.

Designed and run by an experienced staff, all of whom are licensed child care professionals, Camp RBI is conveniently scheduled around school breaks and family holidays. Camp RBI is open every weekend in July and August, as well as over the weekends of Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Offered from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the program schedule changes daily and children may participate for an entire fun-filled day or drop by for activities of particular interest. Children may participate in a half-day of camp for $40 or a full day of camp for $65. Advance reservations are suggested, but not required.
