The ultimate snowsports adventure is now possible this winter as you travel along Canada's 'Powder Highway' in true North American style, experiencing some of the very best resorts in the Rocky Mountains.
'Storm Chaser' is a multi-resort road trip, based in a 'Big Rig' mobile platform that features comfortable living, dining and bathroom facilities in your very own luxury moving cabin. The 530 mile looping route has one of the world's highest densities of ski activity operations along the way and eight destinations offering oodles of in-resort and backcountry skiing.
You'll get to ski resorts like Fernie, Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, White Water, Panorama and Lake Louise - exactly where you go during your trip is based on where the snow is best.
All your snow riding is in the company of qualified ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) guides that are highly experienced in the local backcountry terrain. Although it's definitely not for beginners, you don't have to be a skiing rock star to take advantage of the Powder Highway, as Kicking Horse Powder Tours owner Richard Barker explains. 'You just need to be a strong intermediate level skier or snowboarder with good powder experience and a twinkle in your eye'.
'The sense of adventure is what makes this trip so special and unique' says Scott Belton of Adrenalin Descents, creator of the 'Storm Chaser' concept and the guide leading the skiers and snowboarders in the backcountry terrain for the tours. 'This trip will guarantee the best powder conditions in BC with great all inclusive value. We pick you up, drive you to where the snow is best, feed you, accommodate you and then, most importantly, guide you around the best backcountry lines available', says Scott.

It's an all-inclusive backcountry expedition that is short, easy and comfortable and allows clients to ski terrain you generally can't get to on single day ski tours. Richard Barker comments. 'The guides use snowmobiles and passenger sleds to access into the camp base and then ski tour for two days around this remote area, coming back to camp after a day out in the mountains. By staying right in the heart of the ski terrain, riders are able to ski more, work less and have time in a comfortable wilderness setting' Dates throughout the winter season. More about Kicking Horse Powder Tours
Following a number of seasons spent in the Kicking Horse area, founder Richard Barker had made many friends offering high-quality services in the Kicking Horse area - ski guides, instructors and accommodation providers - and saw there was a place for somebody to put all of these fantastic individual services together - so in 2011 Kicking Horse Powder Tours was born. During the following winters the business has grown to cover the whole Powder Highway area from Fernie to Revelstoke and down to Nelson.
'We organise trips for clients, offering a full range of accommodation options throughout the Powder Highway area, along with skills coaching, Cat & Heli Skiing trips and, of course, Backcountry adventures!' says Richard. He continues. 'As far as backcountry skiing is concerned, we know that our ACMG guiding partners deliver the highest quality product - they all have many years of guiding experience and operate to the highest professional standards'. 'My own first experience of backcountry skiing in British Columbia was amazing and I've lost count of the number of trips I've been on with clients who have said, 'that was the best skiing I've ever had - period'. 'The guides I work with are the best at what they do - they are 100% safety focused and 100% about getting you the best skiing experiences possible. I'm always really excited when I ski with them and I want all my clients to come away from their experiences feeling the same!
