The announcement has been made today by Andrew Stembridge, Managing Director of Chewton Glen and Cliveden House, that Kevin Brooke has been appointed as the new General Manager of Cliveden House.
Kevin Brooke, who will join the management team at Cliveden from the 1st October 2016, was formerly General Manager of the Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro (2012-2016), where he was responsible for all aspects of operation and performance of this 58 multi-site luxury resort. His extensive career history with the Aman group, formerly Amanresorts International, commenced in 2003 with management positions at the Amangani Resort, USA (2003-2005), Amanyara Resort in the Caribbean (2005-2007), and the Amanwana Resort in Indonesia (2007-2012).
Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Stembridge said: “This is a very exciting time for Kevin to be joining the Cliveden Management Team, as we embark on the creation of a new Spa, which is the 4th and final phase of the outstanding restoration and refurbishment of Cliveden. So much has already been achieved in the last four years since L+R acquired the lease for this remarkable property however there is still plenty to be done before we realise its full potential. Kevin's wealth of experience in luxury international spa resorts will undoubtedly complement that of the existing team and will enable him to take Cliveden to the next level, putting Cliveden well and truly 'back on the map'.”
Brooke said: “I am delighted and honoured to be taking over as General Manager of such an iconic property as Cliveden. For me it has always stood out as one of the great country houses in the UK, both in terms of its architecture and rich history, and also its stunning grounds and sheer beauty. Now, with the recent renovations nearly completed, we have a wonderful opportunity to further elevate the guest experience and fulfil Cliveden's enormous potential." said Kevin Brooke.
Married to Marija with a young son, Kevin will take over the role of General Manager from Sue Williams, who is returning to her home county of Wiltshire after four highly successful years at Cliveden, to take up her new appointment as General Manager of fellow Relais & Chateaux property, Whatley Manor.
