Ker & Downey® Africa DMC appoints California-based Sales Manager for the North American market, Ken Hermer.

Leading luxury destination management company Ker & Downey® Africa DMC welcomes expert travel specialist Ken Hermer to their growing team of respected travel professionals.  

“Ken has an accomplished career in the industry with many years experience representing several top African luxury lodges. Based in California, he will be able to provide expert support to agents within the United States. We are thrilled to have Ken on board and look forward to seeing the Ker & Downey® Africa DMC brand expand even further in the North American market,” says Marcelo Novais, General Manager, North America Market.

Ken joins the team with 35 years experience in destination training and the global promotion of East and Southern African safari lodges and luxury boutique hotels. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, he has lived in the United States for over 20 years representing more than 50 top brands in Southern and East Africa including Singita Private Game Reserves, Ellerman House, The Collection by Liz McGrath, Tintswalo Safari Portfolio and Thanda Private Game Reserve.

“My entire career has been devoted to hospitality, superlative client service, luxurious wildlife safaris and high-end leisure excursions. Nothing gives me more pleasure than hearing guests return from an African adventure saying that their lives have been forever changed in a positive way. I know that the expert teams at Ker & Downey® Africa share the same values and I find that very exciting,” says Ken.

In addition to growing its specialized team of travel experts and expanding existing operations in North America, Latin America, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China and Hong Kong, Ker & Downey® Africa has extended even further afield to the Russia/Eastern Europe, France and Spanish-speaking markets. The company has implemented an innovative development strategy since the pandemic and is well-positioned to benefit from the upsurge in business from major source markets like the USA.
