24 August 2016: Visit West Hollywood, the tourism marketing organisation for the city of West Hollywood, California, has appointed KBC to handle travel media relations in the UK.
North American travel specialist KBC (www.kbc-pr.com) secured the contract, which begins on 1 September 2016 and runs initially to the end of the Visit West Hollywood financial year on 30 June 2017, as part of a competitive RFP process.
The account is the fourth win for KBC in the past 12 months, following its appointment by the Utah Office of Tourism (August 2015), Destination British Columbia (October 2015) and Travel Alberta (April 2016).
The agency will work with social influencers, bloggers, writers and editors across travel and lifestyle sectors to build destination awareness and encourage leisure travel to the 1.9 square-mile city, which is home to many of Los Angeles' most stylish hotels and boasts a thriving celebrity culture.
A key initiative will be showcasing West Hollywood's newest properties, including The James West Hollywood, which is scheduled to open its doors in Spring 2017.
Account director Louise Evans will head the Visit West Hollywood team at KBC, reporting to Andy Keown, Communications Director at Visit West Hollywood.
Visit West Hollywood becomes KBC's first US West Coast CVB client. The agency's US tourism portfolio includes 13 states, Washington DC, the Florida Keys & Key West, Loews Hotels & Resorts and the U.S. Travel Association's annual international marketplace IPW.
