The Brandywine River Museum offers a full slate of exhibitions and events through the entire month of July, 2008.

Beyond Content: Decorative Wooden Boxes (through July 20, 2008): In the 19th and 20th centuries, cabinetmakers created boxes that combined function and beauty. They held expensive teas, protected household silver, and provided organized storage for ladies� sewing supplies, among other uses. Borrowed from private and public collections, the exceptional boxes in this exhibition feature a broad range of decorative elements such as paint, veneer, and carving.

Alfred J. Munnings from Regional Collections (through September 1, 2008): British artists Alfred J. Munnings (1878-1959) was one of the most highly regarded horse painters of the first half of the 20th century, renowned for his Impressionistic racetrack and foxhunting scenes and for his equestrian portraits. Munnings� works are found in many private collections in the Brandywine Valley, a region rich in equestrian events. This exhibition celebrates the Brandywine Conservancy�s 30 years as the beneficiary of the Radnor Hunt Races.

.C. Wyeth House and Studio Tours (through November 16, 2008): The house where N. C. Wyeth raised his extraordinarily creative children, and the studio in which he painted many ofh is memorable works, have been restored. Educational tours departing from the Museum are offered at timed intervals, Tuesday through Sunday. Fee charged.

Kuerner Farm Tours (through November 16, 2008): For more than 70 years, the historic Kuerner Farm has been a major source of inspiration to Andrew Wyeth. Its people, animals, buildings, and landscapes have appeared in nearly 1,000 works of art. Educational tours departing from the Museum are offered at timed intervals, Tuesday through Sunday. Fee charged. Not accessible to disabled individuals.

Guided Tours with Victoria Wyeth: Victoria Wyeth, daughter of Nicholas Wyeth, guides public tours of works by her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth, and uncle Jamie Wyeth. The tours include a discussion of the artists� media, techniques, subject matter, and use of models. Call 610-388-8326 to confirm availability as Ms. Wyeth�s schedule is subject to change.
