Julio Iglesias Offered VIP Services at Regent Beijing and Honored at Award Ceremony

Regent Hotels & Resorts

Regent Beijing hosted Julio Iglesias, a living legend and best-selling artist, during his recent visit to China. The Hotel was the chosen venue for the Julio Iglesias Award Ceremony, Speech and Press Conference to announce the singer's three-show tour in China.

Julio Iglesias has sold more records in China than any other foreign musician and remains the only artist to ever receive an award from China's Ministry of Culture for his musical achievements. Celebrating his return to Beijing after almost 20 years, Julio Iglesias was presented with two prestigious awards: First & Most Popular International Artist in China Award from Sony Music Entertainment, and the Guinness World Record for the Best-selling Male Latin Artist with over 300 million global record sales. Lang Lang, the internationally acclaimed concert pianist, presented both awards:

The Award Ceremony, Speech and Press Conference were held at Regent Beijing on April 1. Julio Iglesias described
the occasion as "one of the most important milestones throughout his music career" and expressed gratitude to his fans in China.

"It was a great honor to have two of the world's most celebrated musicians - both Julio Iglesias and Lang Lang - in our hotel for such an exciting and historic event," George Benney, Managing Director of Regent Beijing said. "This is why the Regent Beijing is widely regarded as not just one of the very best hotels in China, but also the world."

Regent Beijing, located in the heart of China's capital city, between sleek, modern office buildings, shopping malls and ancient hutongs, is known for offering luxurious amenities. At Regent Beijing, Julio Iglesias was pampered with five-star service and stayed in the hotel's award-winning Imperial Suite. Regent Beijing's VIP Services program embodies the "home away from home" concept and is underpinned by the Tao of Regent, which emphasizes three simple but crucial principles: "to hear without being told", "to see without being shown" and "to know without being asked".

Meticulously scrutinized, selected and trained, Regent Beijing VIP Services Agents learn each VIP guest's preferences and build a personal rapport. Julio Iglesias was served by the same dedicated Agent for the duration of his stay and all his likes and dislikes will be attended to during his next visit.
