Journey Latin America introduces new Signature Holiday Collection

Specialist tour operator Journey Latin America is delighted to release five new holidays as part of their Signature Collection. Designed to distil the top recommendations of their travel experts into a select range of carefully crafted holidays, each tour is a self-contained adventure, taking in the very best experiences from across a chosen destination.

The brand new 16-day Signature Peru, Bolivia, Chile: Explorations and adventures trip is a highlights holiday with a difference: the emphasis is on unique explorations and adventures which take you deep into the varied landscapes and cultures of the Andes. The recently opened explora hotel in the Sacred Valley offers understated first class accommodation and makes for a perfect base from which to venture out and discover the region. Guests then travel by train to the world-famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and on to Cusco, the former Inca capital. From here guests fly to the Bolivian capital of La Paz where they will have the opportunity to wander the historic centre and indigenous markets. The holiday continues to the remarkable Uyuni Salt Flats with a surreal adventure by 4WD vehicle through the highest salt desert in the world. Crossing the border into Chile's Atacama Desert, guests will spend a few days at explora's Atacama hotel choosing from a menu of guided explorations. The holiday comes to an end in Chile's cosmopolitan capital, Santiago.

The holiday costs £6,198 per person including good-quality and first class accommodation, excursions, some meals and transfers. International flights are not included.

The 12-day Signature Belize: Rainforest, reef and ruins holiday is packed with cultural, wildlife-focused and active experiences. It begins with an adventurous trip to the Actun Tunichil Muknal caves where guests cross underground rivers and hike through caves brimming with Mayan relics. There are optional visits to the Mayan sites of Tikal and Caracol before continuing to the ruins of Lamanai where guests will enjoy a guided tour of the mysterious jungle-cloaked temples. The next few days will be spent in a little-visited region of southern Belize: Toledo. Here guests will stay at an eco-resort and choose from a range of active and cultural excursions as well as visiting a small-scale family-run chocolate plantation. The holiday winds down with three days on the Caribbean coast in Placencia.

The 14-day Signature Bolivia: The final frontier holiday journeys from the dynamic city of Santa Cruz in the Oriente region through magnificent mountain landscapes stopping first at Vallegrande where guests will visit the Inca ruins at the UNESCO World Heritage site of El Fuerte and the little resort of Samaipata. The next day guests will travel to Che Guevara's shrine which is located in the remote La Higuera village where he met his fate. Guests will then continue on to Villa Serrano, which is renowned for its December music festival. Next the journey reaches Bolivia's colonial 'white city', Sucre, and crosses the altiplano following a beautiful, scenic route to Potosí, the highest city in the world, where there is a guided tour of the city's main attractions. Heading away from the cities, guests will venture into the expansive Uyuni Salt Flats travelling by 4WD through the mesmeric landscapes. Guests will fly to La Paz where they will have a short stop before visiting the holiday's final frontier: Lake Titicaca.

The 14-day Signature Uruguay: Land of vintage charm holiday begins with a few days in Argentina's grand capital, Buenos Aires. A short boat journey will take guests across the River Plate to Colonia in Uruguay where they will enjoy a guided tour of the quaint, historic port town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Guests continue by road to Montevideo for a guided tour of Uruguay's capital. The following day guests will take a wine-tasting excursion travelling in a classic car that has maintained all of its original features and offers authentic charm. A stay at Estancia el Charabon offers guests the chance to experience life on a rural working ranch, where they can enjoy horse riding amongst other activities or simply relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. The holiday ends with a few days at the glamorous beach resort of Punta del Este.

The 16-day Signature Ecuador and Galápagos: Volcanoes to the ocean holiday starts in the capital, Quito, where guests will have a guided tour of the colonial centre, the world's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next guests will travel north to visit the famous Otavalo handicraft market and surrounding area, including an excursion to the beautiful Lake Cuicocha. Depending on the day of travel, guests will journey by road or rail through the magnificent Avenue of the Volcanoes visiting Cotopaxi National Park and spending the night in a countryside hacienda. Guests will experience the world-famous Devil's Nose train ride and visit the Inca ruins of Ingapirca before arriving in the pretty city of Cuenca. There is time to relax in Cuenca before travelling to the lowlands via Las Cajas National Park and on to the port city of Guayaquil. From here guests will fly to the Galápagos Islands and board the luxury Sea Star Journey for a five-day cruise, enjoying a wildlife experience unlike any other.
