This autumn, Relais & Chateaux hotel, Le Saint-James is inviting you to enjoy its unique autumn experience. The grape harvest is a special time shared between the visitors, friends of Le Saint-James and the owners of Great Growths' vineyards. Approximately 40 people come together to take part in this annual moment of conviviality and guests can experience the thrill of picking some of the Merlot grapes themselves.

Planted in 1989, every year, 400 to 600 bottles of 'Vin du Jardin', are organically produced from the grapes in the gardens. Guests can enjoy the fruits of previous years' labour as the hotel's wine is available to buy. A perfect gift for those at home.

There are 18 luxury rooms in Le Saint-James, with prices from £215 per night. The hotel is situated in the just ten minutes' drive from Bordeaux and has panoramic views of the city, the River Garonne and the vineyard itself from all of the bedrooms.   

Previous Saint-James vintages as well as other fine wines of the world can be enjoyed in the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant, where head chef Nicholas Magie wields his culinary brilliance

For guests looking to push the boat out even further there are the Saint-James' signature suites. From the Jacuzzi Suite, perfect for a honeymoon couples retreat, with private terrace, Jacuzzi and dining area, to the Harley Davidson Suite, complete with a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the room.

Just a short drive away is Saint-Emillion, providing a wealth of opportunities to taste some of the finest wines in the Aquitaine region. There is also the opportunity for guided tours around the vineyards.

In Bordeaux itself, there is the 'Cité du Vin.' The museum, known as the Disneyland of wine, is where guests can learn about the wine making process and the history of Bordeaux's wine making industry. Afterwards as further temptation there is the option of a wine tasting.
