We have an unexpected opportunity for any of your readers who are interested in the natural world and would like to travel with one of the BBC's favourite natural history presenters, Dr George McGavin, on a journey of discovery in Costa Rica.
Dr McGavin has three insect species named after him and has presented numerous iconic BBC nature programmes, including Lost Land of the Volcano, Lost Land of the Tiger, Expedition Papua New Guinea and Monkey Planet.
Having led a hugely successful Reef & Rainforest small group tour to Costa Rica in November 2017, George is about to repeat the trick with another Costa Rica group in March 2018, on the same itinerary.
An unexpected cancellation has led to the surprise opening up of two spaces for this second group, departing London on 20 March and returning 05 April.
George McGavin, being an eminent entomologist, will be particularly interested in the invertebrate wildlife but there will be plenty of birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals to keep the group enthralled. George will not be leading alone. He will be ably assisted by Gabriela Amengor, a locally renowned Costa Rican zoologist who specialises in arachnids. Their chemistry was abundantly clear during the first group tour (remarked upon by many of its members). They both make a great team and mean that each individual group member gets ample time with each of the leaders.
