Award winning The Peech Boutique Hotel, situated in the buzzing suburb of Melrose in Johannesburg, will almost double its guest capacity in 2018 with the addition of 14 new rooms.
The hotel will also be adding a second restaurant and wine bar to its offerings, which will be situated towards the front of the property and will be open to the public. The Peech Brasserie will serve a variety of fresh seasonal dishes.
The Peech, which was originally a family home built in the 1950's before being discovered and developed into a boutique hotel by owner James Peech, currently has just sixteen bedrooms spread across an acre of beautiful gardens.
“We first opened our doors in 2004,” explains Peech. “Fourteen years on and this expansion is an exciting next phase in The Peech's evolution and journey.”
The new rooms, restaurant and wine bar at The Peech, which is Fair Trade Tourism Certified, will be in keeping with the green ethos that has been an integral part of the hotel since inception.
Peech's passion for creating a carbon-neutral environment for his guests and staff is unwavering and water heating is generated via solar energy, while rain water and grey water from the baths and showers is processed and recycled for use on the garden.
Known for its elegant eco chic style, lush garden surrounds and a service ethic that is both discreet and utterly attentive, The Peech has become an oasis of calm and style for both business and leisure travellers to Johannesburg – a demand which helped fuel the decision to create extra guest capacity and amenities at The Peech.
Construction of the additional rooms and new restaurant and wine bar will commence in April and is expected to be completed by Christmas. It will be business as usual whilst the extensions are under-way, with the new rooms being constructed on an adjacent piece of land and the large lush grounds helping to ensure minimal intrusion on guests during their stay.
The hotel is located in Melrose, a popular and upmarket suburb within 10 minutes of the business and shopping nodes of the city. Sandton is ten minutes away, whilst Rosebank and Melrose Arch are only five minutes away by Gautrain. Johannesburg International airport is 45 minutes by car.
The Peech is opposite the James Gray Park and adjacent to the Wanderers International Cricket Stadium.
