ebookers.com reveals where British tots are clocking up their Baby Miles

As Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham continue to lead the kiddy jetset, ebookers.com, one of Europes leading online travel agents, today reveals that four out of five (81%) British children under the age of three have been on at least three holidays outside of the UK since birth.

The study, which polled 4,000 UK parents, reveals that just under a quarter (24%) of British tiny tots are clocking up their Baby Miles by heading to destinations as far flung as Australia, South Africa, USA and Hong Kong and are steadily on their way to becoming seasoned travellers before they start Primary School!

With Apple and Moses Martin and the whole of Madonnas brood becoming frequent flyers as they join their parents on tour, the ebookers research further uncovers:

When it comes to time away, British families prefer travelling with their kids for a week or more with 39% of Brits taking their children away for at least seven days and 13% for a fortnight Cost is the main motivation for families booking their next holiday together whilst just over a fifth (21%) of parents admit they want their children to experience new cultures when choosing the next holiday destination Western Europe is the most popular destination with 67% of British children heading across the continent to visit our closest neighbours

Celeb Baby Summer Hotspots With ebookers having calculated how far the Beckham boys have travelled (a total of 24,280 miles) this summer, ebookers deduced that these top gun tots beat both Madonnas and Jordan and Peters children by jetting to and from Los Angeles to Europe as they fly to the top of the Baby Mile chart.[i]

However, as these top celebrity tots flock across the continent over the summer, ebookers.com also found Spain and France to be popular destinations for British bubs with just under half (46%) having travelled to the hotspots since birth.

Going the distance Despite Spain and France being popular destinations for families, 12% of baby flyers have stretched their wings and travelled to North America with 5% also jet setting to Australia or South East Asia in search of sun and sand.

Time is of the essence When it comes to packing, 24% of families in Northern Ireland prefer taking their children away for no longer than three days, whilst one in five (20%) Scottish families pack their bags on get-aways that last two weeks.

Holiday choices When choosing their holiday destination, 28% of families in the East Midlands look towards destinations which enable their children to experience a new culture, whilst 12% of families in the North East are smart bookers and search for all inclusive holiday packages. However, the research also revealed that 14% of families in the South East dont want to stray too far, opting for a destination based on its proximity to the UK.

Ben Reynolds, Head of Marketing for ebookers.com, said: While the news agenda is full of reports around the Staycation, at ebookers we have seen todays competitive travel environment leading to more British families opting to take their children away to far flung destination such as Australasia, Africa and North America at affordable prices.

Due to the recession, Brits are looking for value for money to stretch their pound further. ebookers.com are offering some great savings on hotels, flights, and holiday packages - helping those smart bookers and frequent baby flyers to continue building up their miles as they experience different destinations at a lower cost.
