(JetQuay) � SINGAPORE � Enhancing the walls of JetQuay�s CIP Terminal at Singapore�s Changi Airport are the vibrant and colourful oil paintings and ceramic tiles created by the Czech artist, Dr. Vera Leninger alias KUDA API. Although the subject matter is distinctly Singaporean, the style has intensity similar to northern European artists, such as Munch, who is famous for his painting �The Scream�.

Dr. Leninger was born in Prague, Czech Republic, and studied in Cologne, Germany. She attended painting, drawing and sculpture classes and participated in exhibitions prepared by the Academy of Arts for youths in Prague. Her creativity and fine arts career developed alongside a professional occupation as an academic in the history, visual and cinematic arts at the University of Cologne.

Dr. Leninger�s main emphasis on painting and arts shows the strong influence of European Expressionism and Surrealism. Her recent oils and acrylic paintings are of distinctly Asian subjects, painted with Western painting techniques. She describes her painting technique as a �flow of colours� that capture her figurative, floral and cityscape themes in infinite whirls and lines, indulgent in colours and gold paint.

Dr. Leninger has a studio in Singapore and has been exhibiting in the island state since 2002. In addition to being an artist, she is a published author, script writer, art teacher and coach.

JetQuay�s art gallery has been enjoying considerable success since the opening of the CIP Terminal more than a year ago. More than 75 passengers passing through the terminal each day enjoy the exposure to local and contemporary Chinese artists, as they would not normally have the time to visit such galleries. The gallery has sold several pieces of significance since the CIP Terminal opened in September 2006.
