Megalodon Exhibit 21 Jan 2014
Jaws Comes To Rockford

Rockford, Illinois

This February head over to the Burpee Museum of Natural History in Rockford, Illinois where the 'Megalodon: Largest Shark that Ever Lived' will be making its Midwestern debut.

From February 1, 2014 to April 29, 2014 visitors of the museum will able to witness the travelling exhibit which was designed by the Florida Museum of Natural History.

This exhibit highlights the fascinating evolution, biology and misconceptions of the enormous prehistoric shark that once swam the world's oceans. The exhibit features an amazing 60-foot-walk-through Megalodon sculpture, as well as fossil specimens, full-scale shark models, and artefacts.

The Megalodon shark is related to the modern Great White and Mako sharks and was a dominant marine predator for 15 million years before it vanished 2 million years ago.

In addition to the features of Megadolon: Largest Shark that Ever Lived, the Rockford Aquarium and Rockford Reefers will be partnering with the Burpee Museum of Natural History to provide a live fish tank with exotic fish and beautiful corals.
