€1.5 Million Restoration of a 19th Century Farmhouse
September 7, 2018 (Florence, Italy) – Villa La Massa, built in the 16th century for a member of the Medici family and overlooking the Arno River and Chianti Valley, has completed a full-scale restoration of a 19th century farmhouse located on the grounds of the renowned hotel. Rich in Tuscan history, the Villa's owners worked under the guidance of local architects and artisans to continue to infuse authentic Florentine elegance while integrating modern technology. The addition of Casa Colonica brings the hotel's total room count to 41.
Casa Colonica is a 6500 square foot farmhouse which dates back to the mid 1800's and is located in front of the Noble Villa. The Casa features four new Suites (including a Junior Suite), each with private bathrooms. The building's renovated kitchen features wood, stone and ceramics to create the perfect balance of traditional and contemporary elements. The Suite and Junior Suite on the ground floor, may be connected and share a small garden.
The décor is classically Tuscan, and the furnishings are handcrafted by local artisans. The discerning use of authentic terracotta, delicately decorated hand-carved woods, and custom-made 100% natural handmade silk rugs match perfectly with the warm earth tones, transforming the Casa into a luxurious and chic country house. Each Suite is unique in design and celebrates the renowned Italian contemporary lifestyle. The charming internal courtyard is appointed with wrought-iron chairs and surrounded by the aroma of fresh jasmine. It is the ideal place to relax with a book or spend time with loved ones.
“Villa La Massa has been enchanting guests for years and we're delighted to introduce this stunning refurbished farmhouse, which reflects the magic and romance of Tuscany. We've seamlessly mixed timeless elegance with stylish colors and patterns to create serene and relaxed living spaces,” said Stefano Venturi, General Manager.
The Casa Colonica, as well as The Villino – another recent addition to Villa La Massa – are ideal for hosting family and friends and is bookable in its entirety to guarantee full privacy to its guests.
