MAY 27, 2020 (Lake Como, Italy) – Italy's award-winning Hotel Villa d'Este will reopen on June 18th and continue to be the safe and preferred home-away-from-home for its valued guests. 

With meticulous preparation and based on all regulations by the World Health Organization's (WHO) guidelines as well as those of the Italian government, the  hotel follows new standards of operation designed to further protect its guests and employees. Some of these extensive and enhanced sanitizing measures include: Temperature scanner provided for employees and guests, hand sanitizer available for all staff and guests throughout the property, reduced number of tables in restaurant/bar per social distancing regulations, replaced all printed materials with digital solutions, and the hotel will not assign the same room to a same day departure/arrival by different guests in order to provide a deep sanitation in between stays.

Villa d'Este also considered the new updated operational guidelines for COVID-19 health and safety provided by The Leading Hotels of the World. 

Upon reopening, guests of Villa d'Este can enjoy the legendary 25-acre park and gardens and world-renowned floating pool on the lake.  The bar and its lakeside terrace will be open throughout the day and the evening, while the Veranda Restaurant will be open for dinner only – on Saturdays and Sundays the Veranda will be open for lunch too. Per WHO standards, access to the Spa and Sporting Club (boating, fitness room, indoor pool, 8 outdoor tennis courts with lake views, squash court, electronic golf and more) will be subject to prior reservation. Golf enthusiasts can visit Golf Club Villa d'Este, located near Lake Montorfano just seven miles from the Hotel.

FOUR PRIVATE VILLAS

Immersed in the hotel's centuries-old park are four splendid private villas, which can be rented by guests who wish to enjoy all the services of the hotel combined with the privacy and exclusivity of a private villa. They represent the ideal place for those who want to take a holiday with family and friends looking for a retreat.

VILLA CIMA: Built in 1815 and completely refurbished by Loro Piana in 2019, the Villa is located on the banks of the lake.  The accommodations in this stately 7,000 square foot residence are distributed over three floors including 4 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and an expansive outdoor terrace with panoramic views.  The views from the Villa's spectacular balconies are simply breathtaking and frame memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. The private terrace offers guests the perfect opportunity to enjoy alfresco dining.  (Accommodates up to 10 guests.)

VILLA MALAKOFF: Built in 1860 and recently renovated, the Villa stands on a small hill within the grounds of Villa d'Este, a few steps from the Lake.  Its rooms are distributed over 3 floors and offers over 3,200 square feet of living space characterized by classic design with bright and warm tones. It features a living area with a lake view terrace, a dining room, and fully equipped kitchen and laundry room.  The 4 bedrooms are double, all with wardrobe and marble bathroom. Two of these rooms have private balconies overlooking lake. The villa has also an elevator.  (Accommodates up to 8 guests.)

VILLA GARROVO: Built in 1833 and recently renovated, the Villa is located in the park of the Hotel, with views of the lake and the gardens. While respecting the elegant atmosphere, the Villa has a contemporary and light design.  Spread over three floors for a total of over 7,500 square feet. It has a magnificent and spacious living area with large windows overlooking the lake, a fully equipped kitchen, 6 bedrooms with marble bathrooms and a relaxation area with gym.  A spacious veranda  opens onto a hidden garden where guests can relax as well as  a second terrace with a large patio. (Accommodates up to 13 guests.)

MOSAIC HOUSE: A stone's throw from the main building, in the most spectacular spot of the Villa d'Este grounds, within the iconic mosaic garden and its Nymphaeum, stands the Mosaic House; it is accessed through a private courtyard.  Recently completely restored, it comprises over 960 square feet of living space: a lounge area including a fully equipped kitchen, a one-bedroom suite, a spacious marble bathroom, en-suite closet, and a guest bathroom. Both the living room and the bedroom open onto the private terrace overlooking the fortresses and the lake. (Accommodates up to 2 guests.)
