This new itinerary will allow the visitors to discover the private residences, now transformed into museums, of many Italian and foreign artists who lived in Rome: the writers Pirandello and Moravia, the painter De Chirico and many more. One can experience a unique insight in the lives of these artists that were often very private people.

NEW MESSNER MUSEUM IN KRONPLATZ – SOUTH TYROL

The internationally acclaimed mountain climber Reinhold Messner and the architect Zaha Hadid have combined forces to create the newest and final Messner mountain museums in Kronplatz in the Dolomites. The Museum, the highest in South Tyrol, was opened in July and it is dedicated to the great walls of the world and focuses on the art of mountaineering.

RAVENNA'S ANCIENT ROMAN PORT OF CLASSE NOW OPEN

Ravenna's ancient Roman Port of Classe can now be visited in the ArchaeologicalPark just outside the city near the St Apollinare Basilica, famous for its wonderful Byzantine mosaics. The Port of Classe was one of the biggest ports during late Roman times (IV and V centuries AD) and it extends over 10.000 sqm with the remains of old warehouses, cisterns, canals and more to be admired now by visitors who can walk on raised passageways. 

NEW TRAIN SERVICE FROM THE VATICAN TO THE PAPAL VILLA IN CASTELGANDOLFO

A new train service has been introduced by the Vatican and Trenitalia that every Saturdays departs from the Vatican Station inside the Mura Leonine and takes the visitors to the Pope's summer residence, Palazzo Apostolico and the Papal Villas in Castelgandolfo. The villas and Barberini gardens can be visited as well as the Vatican Farm that produces organic foods such as yogurt, milk, olive oil, eggs etc.

A true Festival of Cinema, the Roma CinemaFest wants to involve all the public, Romans and visitors. No prizes will be given but 37 films will be shown in various locations in the city, the public is invited to participate and enjoy the kermesse with repeated cinema performances.
