The Islington Hobart has been awarded top honours in the Superior accommodation category at the AHA National Awards which took place on the Gold Coast recently.
The award joins the list of numerous other accolades the boutique luxury property has achieved over the past few years. Owner David Meredith said, 'We're very proud after just having won Best Luxury Accommodation in Tasmania at the 2014 Tasmanian Hospitality Awards, to successfully also win a AHA National Award. Yet another good reason to visit Tasmania.”
Islington was launched almost 10 years ago and has recently been renovated with bespoke furnishings and a number of new additions to its unique art collection personally curated by the owners. Another highlight of the intimate experience available to guests is the seasonal menus developed by the resident chef Jonathan Alexander and a unique collection of fine wines and Tasmanian whiskeys which have made a significant impression on worldwide connoisseurs.
Meredith adds, 'It is satisfying to consistently impress our guests not only with these unique features but especially our high service standards. This service ideology is one that we pride ourselves upon and one that we continually aim to improve because ultimately Islington was originally built as a private residence, and despite being transformed into luxury accommodation we want our guests to feel at home.”
