Islington Hobart maintains its position as Hobart’s premier luxury hotel, taking honours as Best City Boutique Accommodation (reader’s choice) at theAustralian Gourmet Traveller 2013 Travel Awards.
The award particularly recognised Islington's outstanding elegance and enduring appeal given the hotel received the Best Boutique Hotel award in 2007.
Visitors to the hotel cite the outstanding service, the atmosphere akin to being a guest in the lodge of a very rich friend, the warmth, the aspect and the comfort as the key factors in voting this the leading hotel in Hobart, and now Australia.
Held annually, the respected Australian Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards acknowledge the stand-outs in the travel field, short listing four finalists across 16 categories before opening voting up to readers to determine the winners and validating guests comments such as "What the Islington offers is something quite different from a hotel experience. It is like arriving at a country house complete with the peace and tranquillity that being away from it all can bring. The decor and layout of the house make you feel that this place is special and the welcome we received from the host made us feel that we were too. "
