Tapnell Farm

Isle of Wight, March 2022: Tapnell Farm is celebrating its 10th anniversary as the Isle of Wight's leading eco-tourism venue with bigger and better attractions for 2022.

Pioneering Tapnell Farm (01983 758722, https://tapnellfarm.com) offered glamping before the word appeared in the dictionary. Since 2012, the Turney family, who ran a dairy farm here for 40 years, has redeveloped the site to become one of the island's most popular and sustainable visitor attractions. What's more, visitors can enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of both countryside and sea.

The award-winning venue offers a range of glamping options (pictured, above right) and farm accommodation, a farm park attraction (pictured above left), the island's only Football Golf and Aqua Park courses, archery and axe-throwing ranges, a restaurant and bar serving the best burgers on the island, and a farm shop that focuses on local produce. Plus, everything here is built on sound environmentally friendly and socially conscious principles (see Notes For Editors).

Set in beautiful West Wight, Tapnell Farm is a gateway to the area. It is on the route of a circular six-mile walk, the Tapnell Trail, and offers cycles for hire, with nearby places to explore including Farringford House, the former home of the Victorian poet laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and the world-famous landmark, The Needles.

NEW FOR 2022

New two-night weekend stays as well as three-night weekends are now available to book, in recognition that more of us are taking multiple mini-breaks on domestic shores (https://tapnellfarm.com/stay/offers-packages). There will be new packages added through the year to the range of accommodation offers, too. Great discounted deals on ferry crossings are also available.

New Meerkat Encounters will offer the chance to enjoy a one-to-one, keeper-led, personal experience with these loveable creatures, including a walkabout with their neighbours, the resident wallabies.

The Aqua Park has been fully refurbished and will feature even more waterborne thrills this season with the addition of extra obstacles to overcome.

More archery and axe-throwing ranges have been added to the target-sport facility, where sessions are led by experienced staff to ensure safe, high-quality distanced coaching. Clay-pigeon shooting is also available.

The Farm Park will be adding a boa constrictor, tarantulas and a panther chameleon to the Bugs & Beasties area. And there's new revamped straw play in the adventure barn.

The Cow Restaurant & Bar – renowned for its award-winning burgers – will open an outdoor courtyard this summer and host “Summer Shindig”-style music nights.

A revamped Farm Shop will open in March, selling even more holiday essentials and treats. The focus will be on fresh, locally sourced produce to include vegetables and salad grown on the farm, eggs from Tapnell's rescued chickens, and dough and toppings for the pizza ovens.
