“Although Aconcagua can be attempted by very fit hill walkers with no mountaineering experience it should not be underestimated, and this once-in-a-life adventure should be considered an expedition, rather than a supported trek”. Tim Nicholl, KE Operations Manager

With 3 chances to summit, extra acclimatisation days, all permit fees included and a guide ratio of 1:3 – KE Adventure Travel is once again delighted to be offering the chance to summit one of the world's seven summits.

Lying on the border between Chile and Argentina, Aconcagua (6962m), is the highest peak in the Southern Hemisphere, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere and is also the highest peak in the world outside of the Himalayas. It is not a technically demanding peak and given normal conditions the difficulties of the ascent are confined to those of trekking at extreme altitude.

Aconcagua Ascent - 20 days

Flying via Buenos Aires to Mendoza, capital of the beautiful wine growing Cuyo region, our approach to the mountain starts with a drive to Penitentes Village. It is from here, that we start the 2-day trek to the mountain's basecamp at Plaza de Mulas. When climbed via the Normal Route, Aconcagua is not technically difficult, but it is extremely demanding due to its altitude and on account of the potentially extreme weather conditions. We have allowed for an extra-long and carefully planned programme of acclimatisation, which includes as many as 3 days for summit attempts. High altitude porters will help carry equipment as travellers traverse from basecamp to the 3 high camps on the mountains.

Price from: £4,975 incl flights London to Mendoza. £3,995 land only
Includes: All accommodation hotel and camping, 1:3 (EPGAMT & AAGM) guide ratio, transfers, transport, full trek service, climbing permit, 19 breakfast, 18 lunches, 17 dinners
