Historically Gate House had early associations with the family who developed the 19th century Coppermines, and was the home in the early 20th century to the famous lakes artist Alfred Heaton Cooper - who, at that time, renamed it 'Sondheim'. Today Gate House is a beautiful home of the highest quality standards. Whilst improvements have been made, the outstanding historical features have been carefully preserved, allowing those who cross the threshold to take a luxurious step back in time. The house enjoys a peaceful situ and delightful aspects to open fields & bubbling becks surrounding. Solace can be found on the aesthetically pleasing Lakeland slate patio, where birdsong and morning sun breaking through the trees can be appreciated. Inside comforts include three comfortable reception rooms complete with wood burning stoves, sumptuous king sized beds and roll top baths. The property is very warm and welcoming. The patio area around the back too is out of this world, a perfect place to spend time with a large glass of wine listening to the beck. The property is perfectly placed near all amenities and is set in a very quiet location. I couldn't have asked for anything more or better.
