ICEBERGS BEACH CLUB CANGGU TO OPEN AT SEA SENTOSA

Sentosa Worldwide Resorts announces a partnership with internationally acclaimed restaurateur, Maurice Terzini, to open the first international Icebergs Beach Club Canggu at Sea Sentosa, located along 142 metres of beachfront land on Canggu's world famous surf beach. Opening in early 2015, the project will be the first collaboration between the highly successful international magazine publisher, Deke Miskin, and Maurice Terzini, bringing the Icebergs experience to a global audience.

Sea Sentosa is a collaborative project between some of the world's most highly regarded designers, who have put their heads and hearts together to create something extraordinary.

VISION FOR ICEBERGS BEACH CLUB BRAND AND EXPERIENCE

In developing the concept for Icebergs Canggu, Maurice and his design team have drawn particular inspiration from the iconic photography of Slim Aarrons from the 50's, 60's and 70's; glamour and enjoyment in an idyllic setting with an experience that is both accessible as well as inspirational. Maurice has again partnered with Claudio Lazzarini and Carl Pickering at Lazzarini Pickering Architetti in Rome, who, in addition to award-winning work on the design of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar in Bondi, count Fendi and Burberry among their clients.

“I have been travelling to Bali for almost three decades. I have been waiting for the right opportunity and this is it! Very excited,” said Maurice Terzini.

“Icebergs Beach Club Canggu at Sea Sentosa is our first international outpost and the beginning of a global business relationship that Maurice Terzini and I have long planned. SEA SENTOSA

Located directly on the beachfront at Echo Beach, Sea Sentosa will open in early 2015. Set on 2.8 hectares of beachfront property, the fully integrated resort will provide guests with a choice of 44 one bedroom apartments, 11 two bedroom apartments, 12 Penthouses, 8 Deluxe Studios, 17 Garden Studios, 36 Hotel Rooms and 2 two bedroom Premium Suites. The Resort has already received international accolades, winning WORLD'S BEST APARTMENT at the International Property Awards in December 2012 in London.

After 21 years at the helm of ambitious resorts projects, Sentosa Worldwide Resorts Founder Saxon Looker has the unique ability to see a completed development in his minds eye and assemble just the right talent to create his vision in everything from design to culture and service.

Architect Giacomo Passera has successfully been able to blend Sea Sentosa into the local environment. Each fully appointed apartment is an example of Italian design coupled with the finest local Indonesian materials. Sculpted vertical garden walls by French botanist Patrick Blanc will be complemented beautifully by curated art. Expansive outdoor terraces and balconies provide panoramic views of the Indian Ocean beachfront and sculpted volcanic rocks.

Sea Sentosa is 45 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from Nirwana Golf and Country Club designed by Greg Norman, and 15 minutes from the cosmopolitan heart of Bali, Seminyak. Surfers travel thousands of miles to surf Canggu, with residents and guests of Sea Sentosa only having to walk a few metres to choose between a beach break or reef break.

THE COLLABORATION

SAXON LOOKER: With more than 22 years experience in creating ambitious resort projects, Sentosa Worldwide Resorts Founder Saxon Looker has the unique ability to see a completed development in his minds eye, assembling just the right talent from around the world to realise his vision in everything, from design to culture and service. In 2007, he completed the multi-award winning Sentosa Private Villas and Spa in Seminyak. In 2008 Saxon teamed up with architects Giacomo Passera from Italy and local Balinese rising star Putu Edy Semara.

IAN DUFFELL: As CEO of Sentosa Worldwide Resorts, Ian brings a wealth of experience and direction to the group. Ian worked with Richard Branson for 12 years, initially as the CEO of Virgin Asia Pacific and then as the CEO of the Virgin Entertainment Group in the USA. Ian has been at the helm of the Sentosa Worldwide Resorts since 2009.

GIACOMO PASSERA: Italian architect Giacomo Passera's unique style has been appreciated in Italy, USA, China, Russia and the French Riviera, Giacomo has been especially creative in blending Sea Sentosa into the local environment. Each fully appointed apartment is an example of Italian design, coupled with the finest local Indonesian materials. One of the unique abilities displayed by Giacomo as both an architect and an interior designer is in seamlessly blending the interior and exterior spaces.

PUTU EDY SEMARA worked as the project architect on the award winning Sentosa Private Villas and Spa in Seminyak and is arguably the most dynamic young architect working in Indonesia today. His environmental appreciation and sensibility allow him to design with the feeling and sense of sanctuary for the Sea Sentosa project.

PATRICK BLANC is the esteemed French botanist, scientist and designer that pioneered the concept of the vertical garden wall - an innovative technique for growing plants on vertical surfaces without the use of soil. His work can be seen on walls around the globe. Blanc states, “I gather inspiration every day from nature” which is inspiring to the majority of us who are simply not used to seeing buildings adorned with greenery to such an extent. Blanc uses his profound knowledge of the world's extensive selection of plant life, particularly drawing inspiration from flora found in Thailand, Hawaii and Bali.

Several ground floor, one bedroom apartments open directly onto the Sea Sentosa lagoon. Selected ground floor two bedroom apartments enjoy absolute beachfront settings, fronting the Indian Ocean. Two bedroom apartments range between 201 square metres to 217 square metres including balconies, some of which are wraparound. A twelve metre ocean view frontage makes the most of the beachfront location while selected ground floor two bedroom apartments open onto the Sea Sentosa lagoon. Both the master bedroom and the guest bedroom boast large en-suite bathrooms. The two story penthouse apartments average 400 square metres, which includes rooftop swimming pools and sundecks.
