2002 marks the United Nations International Year of Mountains (IYM). As part of the celebrations Perisher Blue will be hosting the IYM Art Show.
The Show will be held during the IYM Events and Conferences to be held at the Station Resort Jindabyne November 23rd-28th.
Artists are invited to submit works with a Mountains theme, in the following categories:
Water Colour Drawing Contemporary Sculpture Pastel Oil/Acrylic Photography Timber Product
There will also be a Peoples Choice Award as well as Youth Awards for Primary & High School categories.
$5,000.00 is up for grabs, with prizes awarded to the winner of each medium.
Perisher Blue has kindly donated $2,500.00 for work voted the Best of Show.
This is an excellent opportunity for artists from all over Australia to display their works. It will also provide the chance for all to sell their masterpieces to a discerning clientele, said Gary Grant General Manager of Marketing and Resort Services- Perisher Blue.
Artwork from the Show will again be on display and for sale, at the Summit Gallery at Blue Cow from December 26th to January 30th 2003.
The Show is open to anyone wishing to enter, you dont have to be Rembrandt to take part, you just have to create a piece with a mountains theme, said Neil Thew PR & Business Development Manager- Perisher Blue.
