InterContinental Sydneys $30 Million Transformation

InterContinental Sydney

InterContinental Sydney is back in business following a $30 million enhancement programme that has seen the Sydney landmark transformed with stylish new guest rooms, stunning new driveway and arrivals area and a chic new lounge bar and dining room.

The piece de resistance is the opening of the hotels spectacular new rooftop executive lounge, built to capture uninterrupted views stretching from the Harbour Bridge to the Pacific.

Club InterContinental Executive Lounge A spacious outdoor timber deck is just one of the stunning features of InterContinental Sydneys new rooftop executive lounge.

Commanding uninterrupted harbour views, the lounge is surrounded entirely by glass doors opening onto a timber walkway around its perimeter.

Inside, luxurious furnishings and the latest technology take executive elegance to a new level with couches and seating for 100 guests, and an entertainment room with plasma screen television and DVD library. Shower facilities for early arrivals add a thoughtful touch.

The lounge is for the exclusive use of Club InterContinental guests who enjoy a raft of benefits for a small premium on top of their room rate including private registration, personalised concierge and business services and complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments and evening drinks and canaps.

New Rooms InterContinental Sydney's 509 contemporary guest rooms and suites are designed along classical lines - but with a new, urban feel. With a clever use of furniture that maximises the view, they feature a cushioned window seat, luxurious chaise longue, an oversized work desk, and sheer and black-out blinds.

Spacious and full of light, they provide outstanding views of Sydney Harbour, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Circular Quay.

Mint Bar and Dining Cool and intimate, fresh and relaxed, the hotels new lounge bar and dining room exudes Sydney chic. With funky cocktails and irresistible food designed to share, Mints stylish bar and intimate lounge provide the perfect place to mix and mingle. The elegant dining room can seat up to 58 with a delicious menu specialising in fresh local produce inspired by refined Mediterranean flavours.

Open for lunch, dinner and cocktails Monday to Friday, and from 5pm on Saturdays until late, Mint Bar and Dining is a fresh CBD alternative for a soiree with style. The Harbour Room With amazing views over the city skyline and harbour, InterContinental Sydneys new meeting room takes event planning to new heights. Located on Level 31, The Harbour Room is a contemporary, split-level space that lends itself perfectly to a cocktail party or launch event with a difference, comfortably catering up to 80 guests.

InterContinental Sydney's meeting and conference facilities now includes 14 rooms, all with natural light and wireless high speed internet access.

Back in Business A focus on technology, luxury and service has underpinned the changes at InterContinental Sydney for the business traveller.

Guest rooms feature high-speed internet access, oversized work desks, digital television and dual-line phones equipped with voicemail, while public areas, meeting rooms and the new rooftop executive lounge all offer wireless internet access.

InterContinental Sydney is also the only five-star hotel in Sydney with two state of the art, international-standard TV broadcast and video-conferencing studios, allowing immediate access to key personnel worldwide. A fully equipped business centre provides effective business communication with the latest services, support, equipment and technology at your fingertips.

Its easy to find a hotel in Sydney. Its hard to find Sydney in a hotel. InterContinental Sydney has held a special place in the city since opening. Throughout its most recent transformation the service style has remained respectful of time and thoughtful in attitude. As the refreshed and enhanced hotel emerges, it continues to deliver a service culture that exceeds the demands of the global traveller with a charm that is unique to Sydney.
