InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort has curated the ultimate in holidays escapes, transforming luxury stays to luxury plays as it installs a series of exclusive experiences for both kids and the kids at heart this summer season.

For the first time in its history and exclusive to InterContinental guests, the Resort's marine lawn will play host to a bewildering stage set for illusionist Matt Hollywood and his one-of-a-kind performance over five exclusive days in January. In another first for the Resort, the illusions magic shows will be captured and shared through Facebook Live which will be available on the official InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort Page here.

EXCLUSIVE EVENINGS WITH MATT HOLLYWOOD

Awarded Australian Entertainer of the Year and five-time Champion of Magic, Matt Hollywood presents five live performances on January 8th, 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th complimentary, and exclusive to, all hotel guests.

In his one-hour illusion and magic show, guests will experience an evening packed with “side-splitting” comedy and mind-blowing magic with astonishing acts of levitation and mystical illusions set against the stunning backdrop of the Resort's iconic lagoon beach. Complete with interactive components and plenty of prizes to be won, the Matt Hollywood performance is suitable for little kids, kids at heart and the whole family.

A PERFECT PLAYGROUND OF KID'S ACTIVITIES

A bespoke program will launch over December and January presenting the ultimate in family entertainment. In addition to the Planet Trekkers kid's club, a new tailored line-up will also offer the following complimentary activities:

• A pop-up beach volleyball activation; as well as beach soccer and beach cricket
• Cupcake decoration classes
• Sandcastle-building competitions
• Resort treasure hunt
• Jewelry making

Activities will alternate daily starting from Monday 19 December until 11 January 2017.

FOR THE KIDS AT HEART

A series of complimentary adult-only experiences will join the summer remit including wine and beer tasting twice a week and exclusive chef events.

First in the line-up will be a chef's class to create a traditional Moroccan chicken tagine lead by Executive Chef Matt Hart and Sous Chef Matt Street.

Available: Wednesday 28th December.

Set to satisfying the sweet tooth, Pastry Chef Harry Prabowo will lead the second class with a macaroons workshop, demonstrating the art of macaroon making and the history behind these iconic treats.

Available: Wednesday 4th January  

The third class is designed to amplify the taste of Queensland with a chef's class to present the tropical fruits of the region. From mangosteens, longans and pitaya to ice cream beans and star apples, Justin McLean from Simon George and Sons will take guests through an exotic mix of rich fruits and flavours alongside Executive Chef Matt Hart.

Dinner by Candlelight
Experience a candle-lit dinner like no other as a number of award-winning restaurants switch off their lights and serve guests via Christmas candlelight.

Carols on the Green
In true summer style, Carols on the Green presents a family-friendly evening featuring young talent from Sunday Sounds including Tylah Rose, Jenna Cogzell and Tayla Doyle. Special guest performances include Santa & Rudolf.

Village Night Markets
In the Gold Coast's answer to winter Christmas Markets, the Village Night Markets pop-up with market stalls along The Boardwalk with boutiques and Christmas stalls showcasing the finest in festive delicacies and gifts.

Christmas Carnival
While no festive season is complete without a carnival, the Sanctuary Cove Christmas Carnival is set to be one to remember. With three days of Christmas activities sprinkled throughout the village, discover the adorable reindeer (pony) rides, an inflatable obstacle course and non-stop entertainment, free ferry rides, a trackless train and reindeer show at The Village Green Stage daily from 1:00pm.
