Inspiring New Ways To Enjoy Gippsland

Destination Gippsland

Gippsland, located in south eastern Victoria and one of Australia's most popular nature based destinations, has recently launched exciting new products for international visitors looking for authentic nature based experiences. The products include Southern Secrets Tours, Gippsland Food Adventures and Snowy River Cycling. The new products complement the region's fantastic nature based tourism appeal.

Gippsland Food Adventures ($625 per person) offers visitors an authentic taste of country Australia on a two-day, fully inclusive, fully guided tour. With transport from Melbourne, visitors will be taken near the world famous Wilsons Promontory to visit working farms to meet the animals, and then enjoy a BBQ dinner with local wines. Accommodation is provided in the midst of a truly Australian landscape. On the second day, guests will be taken to visit the stunning beaches of Wilsons Promontory National Park then visit a nearby vineyard for a gourmet lunch before returning to Melbourne. www.gippslandfoodadventures.com.au

Southern Secrets Tours ($519 per adult, $340 per child) offers small and intimate tours to one of Victoria's most loved national parks, Wilsons Promontory. The two day tour includes return transport from Melbourne, accommodation and it is fully guided (hosts speaks French and English). Guests can enjoy the stunning beauty and white sands of Whisky Bay, Picnic Bay and Squeaky Beach and come face to face with the local wildlife - kangaroos grazing, wombats chewing on grassy rootstock, and crimson rosellas. A gourmet dinner is prepared by the French host and chef at the gorgeous homestyle Walkerville accommodation. On Day 2 guests visit the un-spoilt Walkerville beach and explore rock pools, followed by a visit to Cape Liptrap Lighthouse, which offers dramatic coastal views over Wilsons Promontory. Head back to Melbourne. www.southernsecrets.com.au

Snowy River Cycling offers both day rides ($40 per person) and two-day self-guided rides including accommodation on an authentic working farm ($265 per person). Located near the Gippsland Lakes in the state's east, it is perfectly positioned for those driving between Sydney and Melbourne. Visitors can cycle through forest and farmland on the East Gippsland Rail Trail, exploring the Snowy River's rich floodplain and surrounding countryside on gently undulating riverside rides and views from mountains to sea. www.snowyrivercycling.com.au

These new Gippsland products are supported by a range of accommodation options, ideally located to take in the best of the region. Visitors can combine these tours with a trip to the historical village of Walhalla, picturesquely located in a steep valley, the stunning, untouched coastline surrounding Wilsons Promontory National Park, or the glistening waters of the Gippsland Lakes.
