Since the 1960s, iconic brands used Sofitel Sydney Wentworth as a backdrop for high-end photoshoots displaying the cutting edge of fashion. Today, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is celebrating the art of living 'the French way' and reminiscing the most inspiring moments with an exclusive new High Tea offering, in the hotel's glamorous Velvet Lounge. 

On 22 October, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth will launch a new French inspired Couture High Tea, where guests will feel like a Parisienne in the heart of Sydney CBD. The new High Tea will be a fully immersive experience; exit the traditional scones, and enter the most delicate macarons, the oh so famous “religieuse” with a touch of rose and raspberry, mandarin-vanilla cannelés from Bordeaux, a revisited Opera cake and lemon myrtle meringue petite tarte. 

On the savoury side, guests can enjoy a signature mini baguette with slow roasted truffle beef, petit pea choux & caviar, quiche with smoked duck and porcini, traditional French chicken pithivier, Tasmanian smoked salmon blinis with crème fraiche, all complemented by a glass of Moet Imperial or Sofitel's signature cocktail, plus an assortment of premium Silver Jubilee by Dilmah teas.

For the first time, High Tea will be served in the hotel's plush Velvet Room overlooking the iconic Garden Court. High Tea will be served every Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm for a limited time only (from 22 October to 30 November 2022) and prices are $89 per person.

Continuing the French immersion, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is also launching Chic O'Clock, the epitome of Joie-de-Vivre where cocktails and conversation can truly be enjoyed over a French-style apéritif. More chic and sophisticated than the usual happy hour, Chic' O'Clock's cocktails will include:  La Pomme d'Amour with apple sour flavours, sugar syrup and Bourbon whiskey; the Je Ne Sais Quoi which includes the finest French Grey Goose vodka, ruby red grapefruit, hint of lime and ginger beer, and Sofitel's Signature Cocktail which includes gin, Chambord, watermelon syrup, lemon and cranberry juice.

Chic O'Clock cocktails will be served with complimentary French canapés and are $25 per cocktail and available in Soiree Bar from 5-7pm Monday to Friday.
