INSIDER JOURNEYS LAUNCHES NEW PRIVATE TRAVEL GUIDE TO CHINA

20th April 2016 – Asia specialist Insider Journeys (formerly Travel Indochina), has introduced a variety of new private travel itineraries for China, taking independent travellers beyond the tourist trail to really explore the culture, traditions and landscapes of this fascinating country.

The new itineraries have been collated in the operator's first ever private travel brochure for China, offering a unique view of a country which still holds many mysteries for those living outside of its borders. From exploring the cliff-side 'Hanging Monastery' in the sacred Daoist mountains, to visiting the rice terraces and minority villages of Longsheg and cruising down the Yangtze experiencing the river communities and magnificent scenery along its banks, there a huge number of ways to see the real Asia.

China, Sichuan & Yunnan

On this diverse 14-day journey into China, travellers will experience everything from the breath-taking alpine landscapes of Jiuzhaigou, to traditional living during their stay with the Bai people of Xizhou, one of the 55 ethnic minorities living in Yunnan, where they'll get directly to the heart of rural Chinese culture. Further highlights of the trip include coming face to face with China's most extraordinary animals at the Giant Panda Breeding Base near Chengdu, discovering more about Naxi culture in Lijiang and experiencing the awe-inspiring views in Huanglong National Park. Prices start from £3,424 per person including all accommodation, private touring, internal flights within China and selected meals (excludes international flights).

Beijing City Explorer

Travellers wishing to begin their holiday in one of Asia's most vibrant cities can do so on this five-day introduction to Beijing. Visitors can ensure a truly personalised experience, with a choice of hotels and activities, including visiting many of China's grand sites, enjoying a culinary walking tour of the city, and even eating a traditional lunch in a hutong home with a local family; all whilst making the most of exclusive benefits only available to Insider Journeys customers, such as complementary bicycles for exploring the hutongs surrounding Beijing. Prices start from £612pp including all accommodation and private touring.

Lesley Wright, general manager commercial UK at Insider Journeys, comments: “We are experts in providing meaningful experiential travel for people wanting to explore Asia. Our new China private travel itineraries offer the opportunity for travellers to discover a side of China, one that is often only seen by true insiders, both on private holidays and during our small group journeys.”

Editor's notes

Insider Journeys has been operating small group journeys, tailor-made travel and river cruises to the 'real' Asia for 22 years, formerly under the name Travel Indochina. Today, the company features the widest range of itineraries and departures to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos than any other tour operator in the UK, as well as a large variety of journeys to Thailand, Burma, China and Tibet, India, Japan, Bhutan, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. Unlike many other travel companies, Insider Journeys limits its group size to a maximum of 16 people. These smaller groups enable travellers to gain the best from both worlds – greater access to the local culture and Insider Experiences, and plenty of opportunity for independent exploration.
