Asian travel experts Insider Journeys have launched new 2017-18 brochures for Indochina and Thailand & Myanmar.
With content covering Small Group Journeys, private travel itineraries and small boat river cruising, the guides are comprehensive introductions to help consumers make informed holiday choices and understand the various styles of travel they have available.
The 92-page Indochina brochure (covering Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) offers a selection of information to accommodate all travel styles, including a range of small group journey itineraries, expertly designed private touring packages, such as a new 8-day 'Vietnam Express Getaway' visiting Ho Chi Minh and Hoi An, as well as in-depth destination information, city tours and accommodation options.
In addition to the main destinations, many lesser known cities are featured. Vietnam's Nha Trang, Hue and northern attractions like Ninh Binh, Mai Chau and Ha Giang are covered, as well as a section dedicated to exploring regional Cambodia's main focal points of Battambang, Mondulkiri and Kratie, and a new Southern Laos itinerary that takes in the Bolaven Plateau, Champasak and Si Phan Don (4,000 Islands).
Equally, the 92-page Thailand & Myanmar guide introduces one of Asia's most popular destinations, Thailand, incorporating its cultural heartland in the north, extensive beach retreats, new unforgettable sailing experiences and a feature on all-inclusive wellness retreats and spas.
In addition to the mainstay destinations of Yangon, Bagan and Lake Inle, the brochure also uncovers the mysteries of Myanmar, with a feature on its 'road less travelled' on areas which remain largely untouched by tourists such as the deserted ruins of the former capital Mrauk U and the Himalayan foothills village of Putao.
Interest in the region has been growing, according to Insider Journeys' new Managing Director, Tony Mayell.
“Small Group Journey sales for both Cambodia and Laos are up over 25% year-to-date compared with last year,” explained Mayell.
“Traveller interest in countries that have previously been 'adjuncts' to their better-known neighbours, Vietnam and Thailand, is increasing. It's very pleasing to see they're now being recognised as equally fascinating and attractive destinations in their own right that offer wonderful experiences.”
The Indochina portfolio includes city, regional and coastal experiences and accommodation, including the dozen unspoilt islands just off the coast of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, famous for seafood, sandy beaches for days, and national parks which all can be reached by speedboat, and unique stays such as eco lodges in northern Vietnam and southern Laos.
A dedicated section covers luxury Mekong river cruising, providing ship information, maps, itineraries and inclusions to help clients choose the most appropriate vessel and route for exploring Indochina on the water.
The Thailand & Myanmar brochure contains new private travel options, including a 15 day 'Thailand Cities and Beaches' itinerary that incorporates the best of both worlds with a stay in Chiang Mai complemented by five nights beachside at the Kata Palm Resort & Spa in Phuket, a side trip to Phi Phi and a visit to Khao Sok National Park; a new 11 day Thailand and Laos Mekong River journey that ventures through the mysterious Golden Triangle and past untouched rural villages to reach the glittering temples of Luang Prabang, and a new 13 day Myanmar Villages & Beaches private journey that delves into the heart of Myanmar's lakes, plains and villages before unwinding at the beautiful west coast Ngapali Beach.
It also incorporates new unforgettable sailing experiences through southern Thailand on board Star Clippers, a feature on all-inclusive wellness retreats and spas, as well as new hotels such as two of Phuket's most luxurious retreats – Paresa on Kamala Beach and Amanpuri on Pansea Beach, and Khao Lak's Aspara Beachfront Resort & Villa, located on the white sands of Pakarang Beach.
