Inntravel Comes Out on Top in Annual Survey of Travel Companies by Which?

Inntravel

Slow holiday specialist, Inntravel is considered to be the best tour operator, according to the latest annual Which? survey of 'best and worst travel agents'. The North Yorkshire-based travel company scooped an impressive customer score of 95%, along with five stars for satisfaction ratings in customer service, accommodation and how description matches reality.  Following the survey of thousands of Which? members, the Consumer champion reveals the full results in the July issue of Which? Travel and online, with Inntravel becoming a Which? Recommended Provider (for the period July 2016 to June 2017).

With hundreds of travel companies out there, it is difficult for holidaymakers to know which ones offer the most help with planning and which ones offer the best holidays. Within this highly regarded survey, conducted in April 2016 among 4,074 member experiences, are satisfaction ratings for more than 20 of the travel companies that were most used by Which? members.

Inntravel, a member of AITO, specialises in Slow holidays, in other words non-group holidays which reveal the lesser-taken path. Combining relaxed activity and unspoiled landscapes, Inntravel's various programmes offer over 120 tempting walking trails, most of them in Europe, 30 dedicated holidays on two wheels, 20 destinations offering snow-based activities and a new SlowMotion programme of journeys.

Inntravel's General Manager, Karl Watson commented: “We are immensely proud to have been recognised by Which? in their latest holiday survey. We firmly believe in our concept of Slow Holidays – which allows our customers to travel at their own pace through some of the world's most beautiful scenery – and this accolade is a strong endorsement of our dedication and commitment to quality.  A huge amount of hard work goes into planning our holidays – helping our customers to choose the right holiday in the first place and then ensuring that they have the best possible experience while they are away. This kind of achievement is extremely gratifying for us as a company and a great reward for our staff.”

When it comes to trusted tour operators, Inntravel places emphasis on sustainable tourism and responsible travel, whether respecting local cultures, benefiting local communities or conserving natural resources. Inntravel firmly focuses on maintaining and further improving the quality of their existing holidays, and giving careful consideration to the introduction of new destinations, always making sure that they meet the Inntravel criteria.  The most popular holiday that has been introduced by Inntravel this year is a self-guided cycling holiday to Germany:

Rügen – an Island Revealed

Spend a week cycling on a self-guided basis, between a rewarding mix of comfortable and characterful hotels on the small, friendly, laid-back island of Rügen. Just off Germany's Baltic coast, its timeless elegance belies its roots behind the Iron Curtain. Hitherto largely undiscovered by British holidaymakers this simply adds to its already extensive charm. Boasting almost 600kms of sandy shores, this coastline is also one of Germany's sunniest corners, transforming its status to a holiday idyll held in great affection by Germans. Cycling gently on country lanes and quiet paths enjoy diverse experiences, from views over towering chalk cliffs and quaint fishing villages. Listen out for the odd spluttering Trabant car passing by and hop onto the Rasender Roland narrow-gauge steam train to let it take some of the strain. Other highlights include the peaceful, traffic-free, seahorse-shaped island of Hiddensee and the UNESCO-listed beech forests at Jasmund National Park. The route is a full-circle, beginning and ending with a ferry crossing from the picturesque Stralsund on the mainland. Price: From £950pp based on two sharing, including seven nights' B&B in two 3-star hotels and two 4-star hotels, five dinners, route maps and cycling notes, luggage transfers between hotels, high quality cycle hire with accessories, and return ferry crossings from Schaprode to traffic-free Hiddensee and back to Stralsund. Flights to Hamburg or Berlin are extra, as are rail transfers (available from Inntravel). The holiday is available 7 May-9 October.
