The Ingenious Oz Project is super excited to announce that the Northern Territory Department of Trade, Business and Innovation has commissioned the Ingenious Oz Project to head into the Northern Territory from October 5 to 15 to discover and share stories of Ingenious Australian businesses and people.
Five years ago Ingenious Oz Project founder Nigel Collin headed off into remote and regional Australia on his motorbike with a video camera where he interviewed “ingenious Australians” – sharing their stories in the hope of inspiring others to pursue their business ideas and dreams.
It led to Nigel researching and writing a book and developing the Game of Inches business process.
This time Nigel will be joined by his good friend Brad Foster for a trip from Alice Springs to Darwin.
“Australians have always been very inventive and creative at coming up with unique ways of doing things, and it's a real thing in remote areas where people have to be ingenious, often because of the tyranny of distance or the weather or any number of other circumstances,” Nigel says.
“Australians are far more ingenious and innovative than we give ourselves credit for, with most people not even thinking their ideas are of any value. As we see it, Australia is full of everyday Aussies doing ingenious things.”
Since his last tour, Nigel has given more than 100 presentations on the people he has met and the lessons learned from them. This first leg of this new Ingenious Oz Project chapter is sure to uncover some great new stories of inspiration.
“Brad and I truly believe that if we can inspire others to believe and pursue their business ideas and dream, Australia will be a richer nation,” Nigel says.
This NT leg, which coincides with October Business Month in the Northern Territory and which Nigel spoke at last year, will result in a video series for the NT Department of Trade, Business and Innovation
